When Republicans decide – they keep their Party in sight.
When Democrats speak, people needing help are topics in their speech.
Yes they both vie for power –
Democrats to help and build,
Republicans for dismantle and devour.
Democrats try to get votes by expanding their base.
Republicans deny votes to strengthen their chase.
To give the impact of their base a boost
They throw unsavory tactics at the opposition to seduce or reduce.
And when power is gained, for Dems their resolve is sustained –
As they try to pass bills to help Main Street.
Republicans cut taxes to the rich.
Demolish what Democrats did and obstruct their attempts to achieve.
People say Republicans are torn.
But it’s not from trying to decipher right from wrong.
Moral from amoral.
It’s to who and what they should stay loyal.
Their ponder is what will give themselves the most political bang.
Even if it means embracing the likes of the Klu Klux Klang.
If you’re not for them, they aim to suppress your votes.
For the here and now, and in the long term.
Democrats fear their opposition – colleagues, voters, rioters.
That fear is justified as there have been threats to their lives.
Republicans fear losing power and that determines their behavior.
When danger is there, it come from same Party threats –
Their own colleagues, voters and constituents.
Some more radicalized because of theirs’ and Trump’s influence.
Republicans showed no care when such threats were to the Left.
Short sightedness and vindictiveness have led to their current distress.
It’s obvious the aggression has been coming from the Right.
But the blame to Antifa and the Left continues to hold tight.
When Republicans had the Senate and the Presidency
They did not legislate for the Country’s needs.
Not even for comprehensive Covid-19 relief.
When Democrats try, Republicans accept only piece-meal.
They did not secure sufficient vaccines.
They didn’t create a plan to get the vaccine into people’s arms.
They worked to dismantle and undo
As Trump’s Executive orders ensued.
Causing direct harm to some
Bringing just, fair and democracy down.
Now people are holding the fire to Biden.
No break on Fox News when it comes to criticizing.
Get it all done or in 2022 –
Republicans can replace you.
So many demands on the Biden Administration to do.
Trump got a free ride – he did only what he chose to.
Many voters have been inflamed
As they claim, benefits often tilt to the Elites.
But when Democrats attempt to level the playing field
And hold the Elites accountable
Republican lawmakers and voters cry – Unacceptable.
Despite all the damage and harm that Trump has done.
Many still want him at the Party’s front.
He’s settling down in Mar-A-Lago.
Defying his agreement that residency there should not be a go.
Enjoying a high standard of living.
While thousands of Americans are dying from the virus he said wasn’t real.
And division still breathes because people continue to believe
That there was an election steal.
How can America have Unity –
When Republicans continue to paint an alternate reality?
When their political strategy is to divide.
And advance culture wars to benefit their side.
How can America find true answers –
When the Political Parties are held to such different standards?
How can America strive –
When one Party actively seeks to deprive certain lives?
Americans have failed to see and deal with this truth.
And until they do, her present path will continue.
America will not get beyond where she is and grow.
Because Americans continue to keep her so.
