It’s curious what Americans have been resisting.
And what they have been so easily accepting.
Simple steps to save lives rejected.
Culture and civil wars accepted.
Liking Trump’s rejection of norms and rules.
And his refusal to use intelligence and other tools.
Accepting divisiveness and violent content in our politics.
Reinforcing Trump and Republicans with their bag of tricks.
Leading to the crescendo of an insurrection.
In an attempt to prevent Biden’s inauguration.
25,000 troops to protect DC.
Politicians and symbols of democracy under massive security.
Nazis and anti-Semitics are now out of the bag.
Not staying stagnant, only temporarily silenced.
And it’s a sad state of affairs.
When it’s your law-maker colleagues that you fear.
It’s disconcerting that Americans did not see
The threat to America’s democracy.
Or that if they did, they did not perceive
There was a need to act with urgency.
Some can’t fathom why the likes of Hawley, Cruz and Greene
Should not be allowed to keep their seats.
Why it is so important that Trump is impeached.
Not appreciating the need for consequences.
Or seeing the need to limit the damage to less extensive.
And that if these behaviors are not curbed.
They will fester to even more disturbed.
Many Americans now show acceptance
To uncivil, aggressive and violent.
Fooling themselves when they say
They denounce such behaviors.
Yet they keep supporting the ones who misbehave.
They must be all in, as they offer no message against.
Some say it’s not a big deal that lawmaker Greene
Went after David Hogg as a teen.
When he spoke of gun control and limiting access to fire power.
She threatened she was carrying a gun and called him coward.
She claimed the Parkland and Sandy Hook shootings were false flags.
And called for the execution of Democrats.
Adding insult to injury –
She was given a position on the Education Committee.
Republican leaders are in hiding.
No consequence to her as they stay silent.
And imagine her Georgia constituents
Choosing her as fit representation.
One voter said he didn’t care what she had on Facebook.
He just wants to know what she does where she works.
Even though these incidents happened in the past.
She hasn’t denounced them.
They will have an impact.
In a role of law maker –
She’s a divider when she needs to be a peace-maker.
A conspiracy theory consumer.
In a place where truth and transparency should be the rulers.
Showing no consideration or empathy.
When she is a servant to people.
Republicans attacking their own.
Engaging in political cut-throat.
Censuring those who stand with truth.
Siding with Trump gives their members a boost.
Republican leaders known to have direct ties with terrorist groups.
Those involved with the attempted coup.
Similar to how Trump engaged with foreign entities.
To gain a pathway to his presidency.
Now the link is domestic.
Making the situation even more dangerous.
They live, breathe, eat and sleep among US.
And they label their fellow citizens as enemies.
They say they have resolve and no intent to retreat.
The Republican Party now housing a Cult –
The MAGA movement.
Whose allegiance is not to America or the Constitution.
But to their leader Trump and his revolution.
Republicans tied up with their own problems.
Little time to focus on govern.
Some say such incidents don’t matter.
That everyone engages in empty chatter.
That’s been the same response to all the lies.
All politicians lie – no need to dramatize.
Becoming numb to chaotic and crazy.
Dismissing the importance of values and integrity.
Lowering the standards of leaders and those in powerful positions.
Removal of accountability, liability and reporting.
Turns that lessen Society’s worth.
And stunt the Country’s growth.
The deterioration has been real.
Which many Americans still fail to see.
If they don’t take stock of the trades being made.
The Made in America Brand will continue to down-grade.
Ironically, the World will no longer buy-in.
And America-First will therefore be the last pick.
