Some Republicans seem to be at the juncture of choose.
Dump Trump and hold on to values.
Or continue on his crazy train ride.
And forever be shackled to his side.
There is no difference between the Republican voters and leaders.
Except some of their followers are duped.
And the lawmakers know better.
How much lower can they stoop?
Republicans now in limbo.
Not sure which path their Party should go.
Continue with the Trumpian show?
Go on the moderate road?
Let the Conservatives lead?
Continue to have the Q-Anon types breathe?
Instead of using this juncture
To re-define and re-build with integrity.
They are trying to gain mass by pleasing every corner of the Party.
Going back to the strategy of everything goes.
That’s what happens when there is no back-bone.
McCarthy trying to please all sides.
No core beliefs to guide.
Nothing solid to stand on.
Because the foundation of values is gone.
His stance will depend on what he can get.
Because he hasn’t stood for anything yet.
First he said MAGA, not Antifa, stormed the Capitol.
And agreed Trump was responsible for the attack.
Did a back-track as he voted against certifying the election.
Then claimed Trump did not provoke the insurrection.
To blaming both sides.
Followed by a flight to Florida to re-connect his Trump tie.
It’s not just the division among members of the Republican Party.
It’s the Party’s separation from values and integrity.
And where they should stay separate.
They instead choose to congregate.
Like trying to solidify the Christian Church and State.
They’re all over the place.
That’s what happens when you choose different factions.
When you’re not with honor or truth.
But you go only for the transactions that bring gain to you.
As the Republican Party goes forward
Will their leaders show moral and political courage?
Or give in to the radical, violent, racist part of their base?
Banking on their “ordinary” members to march in place.
Combined with continued attempts at voter suppression.
Especially States that saw Biden win in the last election.
Still going for their win.
Still with divisive tactics.
Those trying to fight for right, being ostracized.
Those promoting conspiracies and hate, being elevated.
There is no doubt –
Some had enough of the crazy train and are bailing out.
But leaving space for more crazy to fill in.
Will Republicans continue to do whatever they can for the win?
And would “ordinary” people keep giving in
To their craziness?
