Often people say – Jesus take the wheel.
Then they hold on tight and they don’t let go.
Driving themselves down the same road.
Even in the face of evidence and solid advice.
They hold on to their lead with all of their might.
Then comes the mess that they create.
Some start losing faith.
Others become the Q-Anon type, who look for signs
That provide them context of what they should do next.
But you don’t even have to go that far.
Merely siding with Republicans take you to the path
Of deception and distortion.
With that becoming reality –
How can Jesus take the wheel?
How can Jesus take the wheel?
When our listen is based on what we think we should hear.
And our destination is already determined by our mind-set.
When our opinions decide our actions.
Skin-color, Party and ideology drives our transactions.
Worldly wins decide our course.
And a man who made an “Only I can fix it” call.
Becomes our be-all and end-all.
Oh we of little Faith.
Why do we think we should engage in cheat, steal and lie –
For God’s will to get by?
It truly makes no sense
That religious would see this as Godly influence.
We need to face the reality of our situations.
Not just choose information
That would make us feel like we reached the destination we want.
Faith is knowing that Jesus is at the wheel.
When we need.
So you have to have Faith to let the wheel go.
And Faith must show for Faith to work.
If you want Jesus to take the wheel.
You have to stick with real.
Not opinion, perceive or feel.
Get the facts and stick with them.
Then your steer has a chance to correct.
And you will recognize that Jesus remains near.
Always at your side –
If you keep Jesus and his teachings
As the Way, the Truth and the Light.
