Back in 2009, Obama and Biden inherited a mess.
They had to bring the Country back from economic distress.
And they succeeded.
Many seem to have forgotten.
Yet what they forget when it comes to Trump –
Is that the economy he inherited was on the way up.
He gets credit for making it so.
But no responsibility for making it worse.
The pandemic happened under his watch.
The way he handled it was a botch.
Still many claimed,
He was the one to bring the economy back again.
How would he have done it?
When his plan was to do nothing.
Now from experience, Biden wants to go big.
With the Covid-19 relief package.
Not so say Republicans as they aim to block.
Knowing that Biden has been racing against the clock.
Even when Jesus had a sitting for the poor.
He went for more.
When dishing out the fish, he went big.
His decided for extensive, not chancing deficit.
Is that Biden’s rule?
Asking what would Jesus do?
After all he’s known to be a Man of Faith.
And even though they’ve tried
That, they haven’t been able to erase.
Trump and Republicans have been low on empathy,
High on deception.
Always with a bag of tricks.
Readily and willingly manipulating.
Now they want to claim that their way is best.
Why didn’t they implement
When they occupied the West Wing
And bring out a bill to deal with Covid?
It’s not just this low that the Republicans give.
It’s been their M.O. when it comes to how
Black and Brown people should live.
Covid-19 has revealed so many discrepancies.
But with that they don’t have and interest to
Seize on the opportunity to rectify.
Instead they dig more deep to deny them their representation.
As if America should only be Conservative and Caucasian.
Lindsey Graham said that much.
Which seem to be the grudge of many Republicans.
And in some Republican States it’s as if they are trying to erase
Black History from their slates.
GOP leadership rejecting the 1619 project
That tells about Black History and the Civil Rights Movement.
As if the history of Blacks should not exist.
But it’s an understanding of this
That would lead to empathy and the case for BLM.
How many immigrants, now citizens
Truly understand the plight of our African American fellowmen?
Or do they sit back and judge
Just like the Alt-Right and some Republicans?
Historians, scholars, lawyers and behind-closed-doors Republicans
All in to impeach Trump.
But no matter what is said and done, regardless of evidence
Republicans remain tribal and partisan.
No aim to mend or prevent.
Still for defend and protect.
Their yes to Trump sanctions government overthrow.
Gives White Supremacists a go.
This defines a new low.
Not only for Republicans, but for the Nation.
Again, decisions made solely on political calculations.
How low are Americans willing to go when it comes to others –
So they can go or stay high?
America will become weak if her vulnerable
Are denied opportunities to strive.
An attack on them is an attack on all of US.
So if you are pleased with the Republican cuts.
Know, that the consequences do not remain enclosed.
It’s an easy spread to everywhere.
So if we keep choosing low for our fellowmen.
We should be prepared.
Because fate can lead many of US there.
