What more proof do people need
to recognize and acknowledge the bad seeds?
And to take what they are doing seriously?
When will people get a grip?
And understand the dangers with the Republican leadership?
At the top tiers and State levels.
Their failure to lead with just and fair is everywhere.
No the other side isn’t flawless.
But Red has been heartless and lawless.
As Texas was freezing –
Some Republican leaders were leaving for more comfortable zones.
Selling lies, not taking ownership or responsibility.
Nor setting goals to help Texans overcome
The horror in which their leaders played a role.
Their decisions and lack of governing taking its toll.
Governor Abbott blamed liberals and the Green New Deal.
Neither of which have anything to do with Texas’ power and energy.
The Green New Deal is not even in effect.
But the Republican smear campaign is alive and well.
Ted Cruz left for Cancun with his family.
While the State was in dire straits.
Returning shortly after public outrage.
Laughing and joking, showing no remorse or shame.
Even though he’s the adult, his kids are to blame.
Attorney General Paxton flew to Utah for a “previously planned meeting”.
Instead of staying and ensuring that Texans would be getting
What they will be needing.
He says he should be exonerated because the meeting was work related.
Rick Perry boasted – “Texans would be without electricity
for longer than three days to keep the federal government
out of their business”.
Is this a true representation of how Texans are thinking?
While people die and are lamenting about no end in sight.
Desperate for running water, power and lights.
Representative Biggs of Arizona stated that the post office delays
Were because of Black Lives Matter and Antifa.
When in truth, it was because of the changes made
By the Trump appointed Post Master General –
Removal of high speed sorting machines
And not permitting overtime to employees.
DeJoy, a known Trump loyalist, was deliberate.
Acted in response to Trump’s rage against mail-in voting.
Which, by the way he does.
And was promoted by many Republican lawmakers.
Indulged by him, forbidden for others.
And when this method was used State-wide to vote for the other side.
It’s no longer acceptable and must be denied.
It’s said that DeJoy participated in Stop the Steal.
While he’s playing politics, the effects of his decisions have been real.
Delaying medicines, medical supplies and other vitals.
And all he cared about was Trump holding on to his President title.
Jim Jordan of Ohio requesting for a formal hearing.
To address “cancel culture” and political speech “censoring”.
That has been his political reach.
He too has been an avid supporter of Stop the Steal.
Continuing to lie despite the violence it breeds.
Amidst the rampage of Covid-19.
Republican lawmakers’ hands have been bloodied.
Yet from their path they do not stray.
They keep going and let the chips fall where they may.
Ron Johnson delayed the passing of the Covid Relief Bill.
That move was pure obstruct, delay and out of ill-will.
A 628 page document to be read.
Word after word, breath after breath.
Ten plus hours later, ending with no accomplishments.
How many Americans died within that time?
Did that stunt bring him joy?
Did he ever think of the additional lives being destroyed?
No Republicans in the House voted for the Covid Relief Bill.
The same amount they willfully gave to the rich
And showed no care at the time for the deficit.
But when it comes to helping other than the top two percent
They have so many excuses to block and prevent.
At this time in the Nation’s cycle.
While Biden is trying to ensure an after pandemic survival.
Republicans have been all out with culture wars –
Mr. Potato Head, Dr. Seuss and Neanderthals.
It’s not just that they do their deeds.
Nor that they defend their deeds after they are done.
It’s the effect their decisions and those deeds have on everyone.
And despite the obvious negative results – They carry on.
And for themselves, when criticized, they cry foul.
Never accepting responsibility or admitting wrong.
Forever the victim.
As cooperation and productivity from them continue to be slim.
But if it were a Democrat –
There would be open season for their attacks.
The callousness they show.
If they were Pinocchios – how long would their noses grow?
It’s been their Handbook and they do as they please.
No consulting, adjusting or re-assessing of needs.
Sometimes they make US aware, and it’s clear.
That it’s their playbook they are using.
Other times they wrap it in a covering.
Making people think it’s the Bible they are viewing.
No matter their tricks – it’s what sticks.
Not the end results of helping hands.
But the ramifications of political stunts.
And they look for their gain, not for any damage they may have done.
Blind to the challenges Americans face everyday
As they are trying to find their way.
Running people’s lives with lies.
Seemingly oblivious to the numbers that are disparaged or die.
And those who forward or vote these liars in –
Do they still walk with lifted chins?
Does blood run through their veins?
It’s as if they are boxed in to inhumane.
There hasn’t been a pause nor stop.
And they say they aren’t giving up.
Over and over – and they haven’t changed.
It’s disheartening to know so many Americans remain on their same page.
