The Covid Relief Bill that Republicans didn’t want to pass through –
It’s nothing new.
They saw it as fit when Trump was in office –
So he could take the credit.
But now that it’s Democrat after this President’s name
Republicans are going insane –
The dangerous liberals will bring US down.
Their socialist deeds will yield deadly results.
That was the same outcry in 2009
When Obama-Biden passed their recovery plan.
But all of the dire predictions from Republicans didn’t happen.
The plan was actually deemed too conservative.
The recovery, too sluggish.
If their plan then had been more bold.
It likely would have taken less of a toll on the economy
And give help faster to ordinary citizens.
Back then people didn’t seem to link or appreciate
The relief the Obama-Biden Administration gave.
That was government in action for the people’s gain.
Taking the Country away from the down turn it was in.
But many still perceived government to be inconsequential.
Not working for them, a non-essential.
And back in 2018, it was Democrats fighting to save the ACA.
Which Republicans sought to take away and was bent to destroy.
And lied when they claimed they would replace with better and more.
At least Democrats learned from their mistakes
And did not remain stagnated.
They have continued to write bills and policies
Trying to help those at the lower end of the economy.
Meeting with continued resistance.
But thank God for their persistence.
As they were placed again for another save.
From the mess and the mishmash the Republicans made.
What seems to be the Republican plan?
Deny everything that’s Left.
Even if it means depriving America(ns) of any advancements.
Putting more muck in the swamp.
The Government becoming a variant
Of what many voters claim they don’t want.
Republicans cause the temperature to rise.
The fear meter to go high.
And though their doomsday predictions aren’t realized.
They and theirs stick with the same formula and advice.
Do people ever pause to think –
What if Republicans weren’t trying to take way, but give?
What good they could have done
If they didn’t spend their time attacking Democrats and Citizens?
The callousness they show.
They continue to dig deep even though the wound is exposed.
As when the insurgents continued battering on the head
Of the Capitol police as he yelled –
Defenseless, helpless, bleeding and in pain.
Yet the insurgents’ response was to hit again.
That has been the stance of the Republicans.
A vision of their assault on the disenfranchised and poor.
Yet it’s to the Democrats that people want to shut the door.
Republicans, raving against Cancel Culture.
As if it’s a weapon being used by the Left.
When it’s not the Left that’s been working to suppress.
And it’s actually been the ammunition in the Republican sacks.
As they mount their attacks.
Against anyone who disagrees with them.
Denying others the freedom to make their decisions.
They even attack their own.
Those who dare to go against the Party’s flow.
And some have been terrified.
So they shackle themselves to the leader’s side.
Those whose mantras have been for personal freedoms.
Have been willingly and openly limiting others.
Also, restricting themselves to the boundaries their leaders set.
Even though they don’t have the same safety nets.
And it’s not even meant for collective gain.
Like Party integrity, solid ideology and principles to maintain.
It’s the whims, fancies and benefits to one man.
And to please the extreme faction of the constituents.
Even those who reportedly despise the leader and the seeds he sows.
Are there to reap from what he grows.
Align with his Party against Democrats and democracy.
America is still in danger of collapsing, given their greed.
That has been the actions of Republicans.
Serving the people is not what they want.
Imagine now – The U.S. President working on plans and policies.
Focusing on Covid-19 Relief and the economy.
Trying to cut overall poverty by one-third, child poverty by a half.
Working to finally give to the poor and middle class.
Lowering the cost of healthcare insurance through the ACA.
A much needed boost for some since the pandemic came.
Working to increase the minimum wage.
Last raised in 2009 to $7.25.
Back then Republicans claimed it will be the death of small business.
But that didn’t happen.
Today they claim the same.
And it’s frustrating that people fall for it again.
Imagine now – The U.S. President –
Not in every News cycle or always having a word in.
Not just there for showboating.
No constant attacks or stabbing of backs.
Basing statements and actions on facts.
Individuals and groups, no longer being dehumanized or disparaged.
So they become victims and hate-crime targets.
Not using his pulpit to bully.
Or his power inappropriately.
A President showing coherence and eloquence.
Able to string words and sentences in a way that makes sense.
And is of substance.
Not having to repeat “unprecedented”.
Or see an uncivilized and coarse new normal being invented.
Having strategies explained and aligned with reality.
A show of concern, care and empathy.
Despite Republicans continued attempts to deceive.
This presidential package spells relief.
