If you’re not for solutions…

McCarthy accuses Biden of causing an immigration crisis at the border.
When some of it was brought on by Trump’s orders.
Going there to bring attention, promote fear and blame.
Smearing and discrediting – the usual aim.
Never an effort to be a part of the solution.
A chance now to engage in humanitarian.
Because the last time Trump intervened.
Kids in cages and family separations were the theme.
Trump also dismantled programs that would give incentives
For people to stay in their country and still live.
Despite Trump’s contributions, it wasn’t all his doing.
This immigration problem has being on going.
And it’s not that McCarthy is totally wrong.
Biden’s messaging likely encouraged an influx
Of unaccompanied minors and children.
Although there has been some indication,
That the current numbers are not so far beyond
What was there under Trump.
And that the increase started during the transition.
But was not heeded by the Trump Administration.
Yes, Biden’s focus has been on humanitarian.
But even with that, there has to be limitations.
You can’t allow such an open door for one group.
And a strict, tedious and lengthy system for others trying to get through.
Biden should not feel pressured to compensate for what Trump did.
He has to be reasonable and firm with what he permits.
There should be no shame for him to say that he misspoke.
And now firmly say the border is closed.
Having them come, then sending them back –
Nothing sensible, economical or humane about that.
Confining them or cutting them loose –
Neither of which we should want to choose.
America can’t sustain letting in the influx.
And that’s a huge part of the crux
As to why there is a need for immigration reform.
But instead of partnering to brainstorm,
Republicans now with a chance to do over.
Are aiming for a hostile take-over.
Quick to take credit for what they can.
While shining lights of criticism and condemnation
On the Biden Administration.
Using the people coming to America for asylum
As weapons and political pawns.
The thoughts of working together are long gone.
It’s not that Republicans should not criticize or point out flaws.
It’s the vindictiveness and vice behind their cause.
The motives that accompany their words and actions.
And what they define for their satisfaction.
Their way to succeed and prevail has been to have Democrats fail.

Mitch McConnell boasting that there was bi-partisan under Trump.
But that wasn’t because of Republicans.
Democrats haven’t been engaging in mindless obstruction.
Some Democrats and Biden are the ones trying for partisan.
While Republicans continue with stubborn.
Confined by their Party politics.
Ostracized if they contradict.
Republicans claim that Democrats are a free-for-all.
Giving indiscriminate hand-outs.
But it’s meaningful hand-ups that they’re about.
So when the next crisis comes
It won’t devour so many to death and debt.
If for some, their standard of living gets a boost.
Then if another crisis looms –
There shouldn’t be widespread doom and gloom.
And there would be a better and quicker chance for recovery.
Not be so draining to so many.
That’s government in action for good and right.
Americans should give it a try.
Isn’t it reasonable to side with what protects?
That which is likely to do least harm or result in less deaths?
And where and when they can, reduce the threats?

Republicans haven’t been there to give a hand up.
They’re there to pull down and expunge.
Americans too are becoming more and more punitive.
When something goes wrong, scrutinize the victim.
Believe it’s something they are doing.
That leads to their ruin.
Does that give your mind a sense of safe?
You’re not like them so you won’t be in their lane?
Believing they are at fault becomes your way out.
But in doing so, that’s how empathy goes.
And by taking that stance, the bad deed will likely worsen,
become more sustained or strike again.
As there was no contribution for better.
No implementation of substantial or meaningful measures.
That’s the danger Americans keep putting themselves in.
And with no real solutions, we will keep battling.
In reality, we’re not better off or more secure.
Nor have we lessened the chances for an encore.

Similar to what Eldridge Cleaver said –
If you’re not for, or participating in the solution,
You’ve made yourself a part of the problem itself.
A problem made, to confront again and again.
Republicans’ top and main aim has been to win elections.
They’ve made a choice to not be part of the solutions.
A notable characteristic of this new breed of Republicans.
So they must now be included when we define America’s problems.
