Republicans paired themselves with morality.
Conservatives were known for their fiscal responsibility.
But now that’s no longer what they’re about.
What they supported and stood for, no longer stand out.
They were once contained by ethical and social guidelines.
Now, no longer confined, as those were stripped by Trump.
The values once held by Republicans no longer hold up.
Republicans have been showing their stripes.
All along were they of these types?
Just hiding under a cloak of pretend?
Until Trump opened for their true intent?
They are the ones who get to choose what is wrong and right.
It’s only their case that should see the light.
There is no true stance for morality or policy.
It all depends on what they need, for the moment.
That is what will be their focus.
Every time there is a tragedy they send their thoughts and prayers.
No attempts to resolve, just get to blaming others instead.
Any government attempt at solutions or intervention –
They deem an attack on personal freedoms.
Only their and theirs can get or do as they want.
And those in opposition can never be patriots.
Anyone that is not with their agreement is a far Left Liberal.
If not White or Caucasian – not a true American.
That appears to be the mantra of the newly defined rogue Republican.
Descendants of the massacre and slavery are trying to free
themselves from whatever holds them back.
While White Supremacists and others are shackling themselves
to an ideology, Party and Man that must stick as a pack.
They follow, bind and stay in unison.
How is that for freedom?
Their gripes are often against natural change and consequence.
Making themselves slaves to their own and other people’s mind-sets.
Thoughts of how it should or used to be.
Not considering that change can bring opportunity.
Not accepting life and time as they evolve.
Or wanting to expend energy to solve.
Tied to the words of a man who doesn’t care about them.
He’s said it and showed it time and time again.
Yet they still choose him.
And without his leadership, they think life looks grim.
So it’s him they seek to please.
The Republican Party under siege.
So hitched to the past, they fail to see what they have.
Not seeing the positive that may come.
Or the good that has already been done.
It’s not just that they’ve lost their way.
And they are certainly not playing devil’s advocate.
They are actually siding with the Ones
Who are mean, and mean harm to others.
Over the years Republicans have been showing who they are.
If you’ve continued to step with them and you haven’t strayed far.
Then you must admit that there is enough that you like.
Which keeps you with them and in their fight.
Are you now stuck –
Because you truly like what was being done under Trump?
And that is what you want for your normal?
There is much that you have in common?
You, who can easily hang with them –
Does that show a different side of yourself?
Were you aware that side was there?
Republican leaders have been deliberate for their base and basics.
When you give your support you show that you encase it.
No, not all Republicans are bad.
But whether you vote for them or stay silent –
It’s either you’ve been had or you’re taking part.
And just from that, you too show who you are.
They’ve been giving information about themselves.
And if in any way you still align with red.
You show that you are part of their package.
Then too, you have a hand in their damage.
They’ve already shown who they are.
Some of which should have been known from the start.
So if it’s them that you continue to choose.
That now gives information about you.
You can do your twists and turns like pretzel.
But know, you’re working as a vessel for their hate.
No longer can you pick and choose to prove that you’re separate.
You can try to run and hide.
But your maker will know what’s inside.
No excuse of ignorance or innocence.
Now you’re all out one of them.
And if you’re not liking what you see.
First step is to admit that what you now see, is real.
