The Christian Message – Untold

As a Christian, I am confused, no stumped.
That the religious would staunchly support and defend a man like Trump.
He can do no wrong.
The support for him has been strong.
Seems like it’s not just for a few favors.
They treat him like the long lost Savior.
You would think he would need God’s hand as one for the religious to convert!
Not that the religious would say – It’s his hand that we should hold and
serve!
It’s to that which you are tuned in and to what you are listening.
You ignore all of the evidence so you can stay in step with your President, who has no respect for the truth and that makes you a liar too.
You ignore the doctors, experts and science to fit which, what and to whom you have an alliance.
Spreading untruth is a sin, very much as is gossiping.
Christians seem to feel that Trump is part of God’s plan to lead them to the Promise Land and give more recognition to Israel and Jerusalem.
But why would God choose someone so vile?
It would seem he’s more the devil in disguise.
His divisiveness is often in for the kill.
He doesn’t care about free-will.
About human rights and empathy – He’s been still.
He’s for separating families, keeping them caged in.
He’s all about his own cause and of course, building walls.
Do the religious truly feel that God will accept for his people to endure
suppression, oppression and disrespect so churches could get more
rights and advancement from those who run the Government?
Do religious leaders think it’s such a good mix – Religion and politics?
Are these the seeds they sow for their membership to grow?
Their ploy to bring more to the church?
I would suspect, there would be an opposite effect.
Political messages in church sermons is something we should all reject.
Many Republicans say they are Christians.
And many Christians tend to vote Republican.
But the Party has been changing to injustice and hate.
How much more of this will Christians tolerate?
It’s by anger and fear that they seem to be driven.
Isn’t it Love, Faith and Hope by which we should be living?
Republicans and Conservatives push for their kind of rule.
They don’t seem to mind when unjust and unfair tactics are used.
So Christian voters follow their leaders.
Their eyes are not on the true prize – which should be the Creator.
Are you sure the push to open churches comes from the Holy Spirit?
God wants his people to suffer and die,
Not work together to stop a pandemic?
It was told that the Church is not the building
But the hearts of the people who worship in it.
So if there’s a safer way in which to congregate,
God will not find that to be adequate?
Will he not be present?
He’s everywhere, except for the Internet?
So you fight for your religious freedom
Which you were told was taken from you.
But in truth, it’s been there all along.
You gave in to the belief that it was gone.
So you convinced yourself you’ve had one choice
Because of your focus on the fear of the loss.
It wasn’t a Jesus seed they sowed
When Christian leaders took the stage of the world.
It wasn’t God’s name that was heard.
But that of the man wanting to be most powerful.
Their arms aren’t outstretched for a loving embrace.
Only to balance themselves in their power chase.
What truly has been their cause?
To him, did they even mention the poor?
Have they tried to convince him not to sin?
It seems more that they’ve been convinced by him.
It’s hard not to feel discouraged or dismayed
When even religious leaders are so easily swayed.
They had the greatest opportunity to promote the best of Christianity.
They were given a chance to have Christianity soar.
Then they gave less, not more.
They failed to show the Jesus portrayal.
Instead they became the Judas betrayal.
But it reminds us not to put Man on a pedestal.
When they are placed there, they are often in for a fall.
The Christian cause should be for good.
When it’s love and compassion for which it stood.
Positive messages and guidelines, humane and kind deeds to live by.
Don’t throw away the true Christian message.
Rebuke the misguided messengers.
Pray that they may find their way.
They’re not saviors, they too are sinners.
Sinners who need to tune in, to what Jesus said and did.
A Christian message often calls for sacrifice and discipline.
That’s what’s needed to get us through Covid.
Just do as you would during the time of Lent.
Social distancing and wearing a mask – are now your Penance.
But it’s also a way to show that you’re there for your neighbors, the
vulnerable and those who work in Health-Care.
Don’t succumb to anger and fear.
It’s Faith, Hope and Love – God’s message is clear.
It’s not to be anti-religion – But we show who we are by our words, deeds, actions and associations.
God gave us a brain and a mind to think.
He also left a message that goes ahead of everything.
Love one another, it’s as simple as that.
That’s the focus which will keep us on track.
It requires fairness and justice for all in this world.
That’s the message the Christian Leaders should have told.
