The GOP has been on alert.
Doing whatever it takes to advance their own.
Anti-America, Anti-democracy.
Promoting anger, division and hate in our society.
An American leader in Russia’s cheering section.
Using propaganda started by Putin to sway America’s election.
Trump supposedly failed in a presidential repeat because of voter fraud.
And supposedly, only his result was flawed.
Not questioning the success of Republicans in the down ballots.
Why are only their wins valid?
So many months have gone with no presented evidence.
But many still hold to the con man’s lies and influence.
Now against Biden, wanting him to fail.
Whatever it takes, they are all out and all in.
Even when it’s good that the Biden Administration is trying to do.
The GOP aims to tarnish, refute and rebuke.
No matter the effect to Americans.
Republicans are still for partisan.
No courage or appetite for good or right.
How can any of them sleep at night?
And their followers, choosing lies and conspiracies.
Selecting information and memories, going for extreme.
They continue with their false equivalents whenever they’re called out.
To that one man they stay devout.
But Trump wasn’t a stray.
Republicans easily adjusted and adapted to his atrocious ways.
He has been instrumental in making the Party what it is today.
Trump and the GOP –
Delivering the likes of Jim Crow and the Confederacy.
Since many have been for lies in their living.
They’ve failed to see it is forced choices they’ve been given –
For or against, when in truth that often isn’t the case.
Simplifying the complicated.
Pure laziness with thinking being cultivated.
Forcing Americans into a corner.
Radicalizing many of their supporters.
Trump had and has so much power and opportunity.
But he’s limited by his insecurities and ingenuity.
Even with Covid when there was so much good to do
He was not able to follow through.
He will never pass the good leadership test.
As the focus is always on him and his, with no care for the rest.
All of that will not change if he’s given a second chance.
So emboldened, he will continue only for his advance.
Trump said he would build a wall and Mexico will pay.
Then came the day to separate the families and house children in a cage.
He said his goal was to bring back coal.
Well, Clinton was the honest soul when she said coal was a no go.
At factories, there will be creation of jobs and production.
But under Trump, many factories were shut down.
He tagged his corporate tax cuts as a huge hit.
From which the already wealthy reaped the benefits.
Trump granted farmers government subsidies and aid.
But some of their loss came direct from changes he made to tariffs and trade.
He claimed he would drain the swamp.
And pursued to muddy the waters.
The government of corrupt and chaos
Branded itself as one for law and order.
Many of Trump associates were linked to crimes and wrong doings.
Either arrested, indicted, incarcerated or convicted.
You would think that was a good thing for politics.
His crackdown on illegal immigration
became the demonizing of immigrants and the Muslim ban.
Even with all of that, he has retained so many fans.
Many are at the MAGA gate, waiting for it to open.
Despite all that has been seen, heard and known.
At first, expect their opening will be wide, letting many in.
But then there is sure to be some narrowing.
What will be the criteria to thin?
For sure, loyalty to him.
But can we expect that White Supremacist, Blacks and Jews
Can survive equally under their type of rule?
This hasn’t been realized even now.
If there can only be some, who will be left out?
When your belief, ideology and strategy entail exclude.
There is always a chance that the one excluded will be you.
Many seem to think that such change may not happen for generations.
Don’t be naïve, look at what happened under Trump.
Who and what America stood for as a Nation to what she has since become.
Before, change was slow and with some hesitation.
But Trump came with speed and acceleration.
Making it a different kind of race.
Many of his followers, now addicted to his pace.
Trump has kept the Putin, Kim Jong-Un, and Duterte types in his sight.
Who is to say that Hitler isn’t far behind?
If we get more of him, given what he has already allowed in
While continuing to deny his motives, and intent as host.
We will be at risk to suffer most.
If another chance comes for Trump or a Trump type.
This time around they could reach the finish line.
If they again are given the stage with free rein.
They will take full advantage and resist being contained.
He already gave the start which they will be determined to finish.
And will be more relentless to assure for their winnings.
It will be with more vengeance, violence and force.
Likely to not divert from their course.
Trump has already made it clear.
He has the destination set, and a path to get there.
When he has to make a choice, it will be for him.
Never mind if for US, it results in pain and suffering.
Less likely he will tolerate impediments.
Yet we swim and pretend, it’s the kiddie pool we’re in.
But when the damn breaks and the waves hit, many Americans will drown.
As long as we allow this brand of politics to grow strong.
History doesn’t just repeat.
It’s as people follow, proceed and concede.
