It’s amazing, these conspiracy theories, and what you are choosing to believe- Giving such power and credit to the Democratic Party, which supposedly got the world to fake a pandemic and have Countries report that their people are sick. They even succeeded for economic shut-downs and had Republican Governors issue stay-at-home orders and lock-downs. So if Democrats can do all that – it’s a wonder they don’t have a successful win-election format.
At the other end, Trump leads an assault on America’s democracy. And it’s this lying, authoritarian leader that you choose to believe. The World knows that the Russian influence is not a hoax. Refuting that fact is what you chose. You ignore the negative effects of pollution and rebuke climate change solutions. There is racism in America which you deny. Systemic racism, you minimize.
America and Americans have been slowly changing. The pathway being taken is very disturbing. Supporting a Government that rules by unrest and crisis. Valuing symbolic gestures over meaningful sacrifices. When you kneel for a flag as a way to protest – you‘re unpatriotic. Yet during a pandemic, not wearing a mask is heroic. When the truth is – not wearing a mask, not assembling in masses – Are crucial tasks for the Country to conquer the Pandemic. It would take every person, in every State to work together and cooperate for the virus to be contained. So now that it’s time to put Country above all, People remain partisan and political. It’s personal freedom that they chose. Masks, discipline, distancing – they oppose. Is America adopting a new kind of patriotism and socialization? Is this what we will be teaching our children? Lying, cheating, bullying? Not about doing the right thing – just as long as you win?
There’s a new type of politics that is evasive and all-consuming. It’s in every aspect of our lives. And it’s hard to avoid even when you try. We’re creating toxic environments for ourselves by allowing such consistent and relentless influence of the politics and what’s created by politicians. That makes it difficult to stay informed while striking a healthy balance.
There are new faces to law-makers and political leaders. An evolving Party that is unjust and unfair in their fight to lead US. Embracing cult-like groups springing from the Right Which are quickly developing and making main-stream ties. Subscribing to conspiracy theories and “alternative facts”. This is the side of the Republicans, Conservatives and the religious. Home to the Alt-Right and QAnon.
There are voters squandering their Right to vote by not going to the polls. While others use that Right to promote assaults on the Constitution, damage to Institutions. Trying to limit power to one Party and one leader.
We are creators of our own instability as we refuse to see our faults and take responsibility. Yet we look for the Universe to give us better. Though we’ve failed in a quest to work together. Our Universe is what we made it. Just like in our daily lives. We’re adding to our stress and chaos. Then we struggle to survive.
It’s often not a quick change to alert you to what’s happening. But a slow growth, to envelope. As a vine covers a wall until the wall itself doesn’t show any more. Like drugs changing the users’ personalities Until they become shells of their former selves. Like stress taking over a family. Who wonder after the stress is gone – How they were able to tolerate it for so long. For some it takes months, some years. Even at times, it’s not until a decade is near When that – What happened to US? – moment appears.
It would be a blessing for such realization to hit before the next election. Four more years of deterioration, and America will need more than a resuscitation to heal the financial, social and psychological tolls, remove the effects of trauma and regain her soul.
