People say they are Republicans because of their conservative views
and family values.
Which of those did Trump ever show?
He doesn’t have a conservative bone.
But he knows how to throw red meat to keep his minions occupied.
Their lies are no longer disguised.
Their tricks done with such openness.
Yet people are still hooked, entertained and in awe.
Drawing a crowd.
While those trying for good are seen as a bore.
Harder for them to move up or score.
Republicans paired themselves with morality.
Conservatives touted fiscal responsibility.
Trying to sell themselves as the Party for the working-class.
Yet there is never an easy vote to give these workers a pass.
Now there’s much question regarding what they are about.
What they supposedly stood for, no longer stands out.
They have been and are getting by not only with crime and atrocities they commit.
But also the harm that comes from when they choose to omit.
No need to solve a problem if they say it doesn’t exist.
On the other hand, they give answers as they search to find a problem.
Like “resolving voter fraud” that wasn’t present in the 2020 election.
Certified even by Republican and Trump appointed officials.
Yet they are still digging deep, at taxpayer’s expense.
No outcry from the Right for such egregious movements.
It’s with Republicans that QAnon found a home.
Believing in the absurd.
Wherever the mind roams – If it suits, it’s truth.
Democrats are cannibalistic pedophiles involved with child sex trafficking.
Majorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz are now partnering.
Though accusations of him being involved with sex, drugs and political corruption.
If not him, in the least, by very close association.
No reaction from Greene or any of their colleagues.
Republicans are not wrong to hold their tongue about Gaetz.
Until there is more information of the accusations or charges.
If only they can extend that courtesy to others, other than their own.
They don’t hold back on giving information or opinion on Democrats.
Even when they don’t know.
And now they smear Liz Cheney and treat her like an outcast.
A true conservative at heart and by vote.
Elise Stefanik is who the Party chose.
Shown to be more of a liberal and progressive.
But that doesn’t matter, as she’s a voice to Trump’s message.
Cheney didn’t depart from conservative or Party policy.
She just didn’t lie about Stop the Steal.
She chose to speak truth and admit real.
Her Party, purging those who don’t align with Trump’s big lie.
So if you decide this is the Party for you.
You’ve made yourself into a liar too.
But the likes of Cheney and Romney should not be given a free pass.
They’ve stood beside as Republicans, to do a lot of bad.
With their actions and silence, they helped empower the beasts.
They too have been enablers of Stop the Steal.
Staying with the Party line, allowing the climb.
Now the beasts have grown and gotten strong.
Enough to expel those who don’t march along.
Party leaders have made it clear, that Republicans are there
to represent the Party and stick to what is set in motion.
Not for the People, not for the Country, not for the Constitution.
Not to vote their conscience or to do the right thing.
The expectation is for following the path defined by the lead.
Even if that means not tending to their constituents’ needs.
Despite knowledge and information
They can’t use their discretion, or change direction.
They can’t think for themselves or do as they see fit or best.
Heartless, brainless, thoughtless and gutless.
Follow and say yes, even if it leads to depress and distress.
Many approve of these new Republican moves.
Even though all they have to give are culture wars, personality and identity politics.
That now describes their brand of conservative.
Reflected in who they now choose to their leadership.
Who they try to oust, who they attempt to keep on their shift.
But how will this type of politics translate to America’s benefit?
Americans will always be living with a deficit.
If there is no investment in truth for people’s welfare.
No development or improvement for education, health or infrastructure –
Now or in the future.
America(ns) will fall behind.
More will be scraping by to survive.
It’s likely that Republicans didn’t just morph into this breed.
It seems to be who they’ve always been.
Only before, they were contained by societal restraints.
Once they endorsed and legitimized Trump.
It permitted those traits to move to the top,
Revealing what was below and would sprout when allowed to grow.
Is it a coincidence that a solid part of their base
are white supremacists and remains of the KKK?
That their strategies to gain rule include hate, divide and exclude?
That when they lose they don’t assess and then aim to impress.
Instead they depress, oppress and suppress.
That they use race to incite and instigate.
That their “patriots” proudly display confederate flags and a noose.
When they marched on the Capitol for their truth.
Republicans no longer hide what they are about.
Or what they are about to do.
So it means they hold what you seek
when you decide to vote them through.
Power for rule is at the top of their list.
And certain parts of society they aim to dismiss.
These, they have made clear as their priority.
With a vote for them you can’t declare this is not how you want America to be.
First time around, it could have been poor judgment or a mistake.
But if you keep trying and we believe you – It’s to our disgrace.
It’s time to admit that it’s the types of Putin that you want for America’s lead.
And those of Lincoln and Reagan are no longer your speed.
If you are for a second Trump Presidency.
This time around, come clean.
There are windows of truth when the leaders say what they mean.
Be honest about your gripes and frets.
What it is that you’re really out to get.
Because the choice of another Trump, Trump type or look alike
will be a finish to his start.
And if it comes to that, you can’t deny what you are and have been aiming for.
The writing has been on Trump’s wall.
And as a follower, you are agreeing with it all.
