Biden has been promoting bills to get US beyond Covid.
What can be a better start than providing jobs and stimulus?
Repairing infrastructure that we know is falling apart.
Yet there is objection, obstruction and resistance.
Why? – So some politicians can get a power high?
So their base can get their high when their leaders defy?
Americans have many blessings that they keep squandering.
Unfortunately being replaced by divisiveness and bickering.
Assets if you’re wanting dysfunction.
But not for peace and good relations.
It’s not that there are disagreements.
Not a matter of differing opinions.
It’s what’s behind the wants.
The reasoning and justifications.
The bad seeds that are willingly sown.
The nefarious deeds they promote.
To establish for themselves and their own.
It’s the belief that they and theirs are better than most.
Convinced that they are the more valuable and productive ones.
Acting on fear of what they think will come.
Lacking empathy and care.
Not wanting for others to make it to the end.
The desire to end justified resistance.
Demonize rational resilience and persistence.
Unwillingness to give a cut.
Wanting to keep others shut out and have them shut up.
It’s the anger that’s so great and sorely displaced.
Yet many Americans are following.
It’s nothing new, a revelation of what has been.
Trump just forced it all out to the open.
Now we have names and faces.
To the haters, racists and wanna-be dictators.
The people and systems were already broken.
Always there, just lightly spoken.
What may be a surprise, is how widespread.
Something many didn’t expect.
And how close – neighbors, friends, even family.
Siding with the racists, supremacists and for anti-democracy.
How deep and far they allow the callousness to spread.
How easily they sold their soul, are steered and led.
Now their votes are based on sinister.
That’s reflected in the behaviors of their leaders.
Those leaders now take power for power’s sake and it goes to their heads.
All of which is left unchecked.
Their go has become their get.
Not for the public or to the constituents.
A decision to play politics.
Which has led to trauma, injuries, torture and kill.
They could have gone with the first impeach.
But chose to let Trump loose and unleashed.
He would not have been so emboldened
To lead a mob to storm the Capitol.
Then a carve to golden – made larger than life, fantastical.
Followers even more fanatical.
Republicans had a chance to break free.
Probably write the slate clean.
But they chose Trump.
Equalizing him to triumphant.
They took a side, just a few let conscience be their guide.
McConnell went full split.
By his actions, for acquit.
Yet his words following with delivery of a harsh indictment.
But no containment or accountability.
Again, empowering the beast.
Trying to capture donors and moderates with his speech.
While giving Trump a full release.
To please those who still want him to lead.
Banking that they will still get the votes from those so tied to the Republican hip.
They appear to be in agreement that goes beyond policies and politics.
Conscious or subconscious, there is much they have in common.
What they believe and how they think, to their wishes.
If you continue to vote Republican, you’re likely to agree
with their statement that your right to own a weapon
trumps others to choose a leader.
Check the box for guns but not the one
to allow your fellowmen representation.
That establishing America as a Christian Nation
Takes precedence over religious freedom.
That the beliefs, values and lives of those on the Right.
Are more in stride and in line with divine.
So that gives them credibility.
To promote their supremacy.
Judging others as second-class.
Only White and Republican get a pass.
That has been the Republican way for more than a decade.
As the cycles go by, that path has solidified.
With their voter suppression, gerrymandering and re-districting.
They continue to attack the spirit and will of people who disagree with them.
For those who look or say different, only to condemn.
The Republican Party as we know it, is gone.
Patching it up is not an option or a viable solution.
Until they get a strong message through no-vote.
They will continue with their show.
Believing theirs is the way to go.
As a whole, Republicans appear to have sanctioned a goal.
Only them and theirs are for promote.
If you’re not on board, you’re not a patriot.
They are the Chosen Ones.
To hell with the heathens.
At least that has been the message their leaders give.
And many donors appear to be endorsing.
But yet to be determined at the polls.
Provided that eligible voters, who want to, get their chance to vote.
And it depends on if democracy still stands.
Or if the next cycles of leadership will be picked
by the current Republican leaders’ hands.
It’s been a while since they set their course in that direction.
Getting closer and closer, more within reach with every election.
As democracy slips, autocracy is getting a firmer grip.
