Conservatives weren’t into regulating businesses.
They cared about the deficit.
They didn’t believe in a one-party control.
They weren’t so into widespread denying people the Right to vote.
They weren’t extremists or terrorists.
Now many of these are part and parcel of their mix.
Weren’t sanctioning political violence.
Nor campaigning and ruling by pretense.
Their attraction to draw in members wasn’t hate.
Their attitude toward the opposition wasn’t pure distaste.
From morality and integrity they didn’t totally deviate.
Their desire to lead wasn’t for pure power and because of greed.
Conspiracy and lies were not their main feed.
They didn’t aim to make the forefathers’ Democratic States into a Banana Republic.
And there was a time, voters kept politicians in check.
There was respect with inspect and expect.
But over time, with no consequence or accountability.
They have morphed to a different being.
Behind closed doors, it’s said that Republicans are appalled with what goes on.
To the public, it’s a different show and tell.
A pattern Republicans have sewn so well.
Now Democrats are trapped.
Forced into a one-handed clap.
Always for the Democrats to bend.
When will the GOP’s dominance end?
God forbid that there is any compromise.
Coming from their side.
Joe Manchin is wrong.
With the GOP’s path, there is no bipartisan.
If McConnell and McCarthy’s goals remain –
That Biden and the Democrats must not prevail.
If there is no compromise or consideration as they make their assessments.
Manchin himself will fail as a public servant.
To protect the people and the Constitution.
Blatant evidence as Republicans voted against
an independent commission to investigate the insurrection.
To get to the root of the Capitol riots.
Which many Republicans are now denying.
Not in stride with peace, security or democracy.
These are no longer their priority.
Put Manchin in that block –
Of those normalizing, unprecedented, irrational, amoral behaviors.
What good is bipartisan if democracy falls?
The Democrats’ agenda will not matter at all.
If the Republic is traded for a one-Party rule.
This could be his worst, most foolish move.
As democracy faces another count-down.
To her lights dimming out.
The likes of Manchin, living in another reality.
Still making a determination that Republicans will step away from power and greed.
Decide to go with morality and decency.
Even though Republicans show no signs of wanting to change their stripes.
They keep being rewarded to have their divisiveness stay alive.
And as that continues.
Manchin’s decisions are based on lies and deceptions too.
Americans can’t seem to effectively sift through information and decipher truth.
They appear easily confused.
And their minds are led by the brains that do their figuring instead.
They enjoy the taste of shred, offend and be-head.
So they continue with the mind-set.
Back when the alarms came sounding climate instability and change.
The right chose to double down.
Partnering with the same corporations.
Who were set to do the damage.
For their rise and gain no matter the carnage.
Ignoring their own science and scientists.
Now as a crisis, they still work to change the narrative.
Forests burn, storms come.
Extreme weather all around.
No desire to right wrongs or see what can be done.
Tobacco went down that same road.
The higher ups aimed for gold.
Paid for by people’s health and deaths.
But it wasn’t just about the wealth.
They were after other perks such as power and control.
Now the big boys are so in for Republican wins.
That most of the world’s privileged and rich.
Choose America for residing.
As there are big benefits for their reaping.
Capitol rioters claiming it’s their place.
Yet they were quick to vandalize, destroy and deface.
Republicans who say it was just another tourist day.
Wouldn’t they have had to approve the budget for replace?
Where do you think the money comes from?
Not from donations.
Taxpayers’ money spent on needed waste.
Yet the GOP hasn’t changed their taste or pace.
They continue arming themselves with guns.
And they are ones promoting political violence and unrest.
Continued distress, depress and stressed.
How much of budgets go to security and protection?
A better use could have been education, recreation or construction.
Directly to and for the people.
Not so much to smooth self-made upheavals.
It’s the same case when it comes to Covid -19.
More on the right are refusing to follow the guidelines and get the vaccine.
Putting a strain to our health care systems.
Clearing the way for spread and variants’ existence.
More intense, more potent, more deadly, more contagious.
Back to intensive care and hospitalizations.
When we should be over the hump for comfort and cure.
To what we knew as normal.
A cost not already budgeted.
Digging deep for funds to pay for all of this.
And likely the ones who are not cooperating
are the same who keep trying to kill the ACA.
What would America(ns) have done if government didn’t pay through this one?
If they didn’t have insurance that included pre-existing conditions?
Their demand of personal freedom has led to the detriment of US all.
Adding to the deficit and the Country’s downfall.
Making it worse for US on a National scale.
Not easily remedied at local or State.
With much costs to them too.
As if spending is the GOP’s truth.
And increasing the deficit is their thing to do.
More wastage and mis-direction of funds.
Those have been gifts from Republicans.
Yet the stain remains on Democrats who are easy targets.
It’s into them as opposing agents that the right wants to bury the hatchet.
Never with intent to bipartisan and peace.
Only in pretense has there been positivity or outreach.
Americans keep putting their fate into the hands of a few.
While giving those hands more power which position themselves to not lose.
Even though it’s now clear what’s sprouting through.
Americans allow the ploughing to continue.
Germination to a weaker, sicker Nation.
Converting their acreage into plantations.
Which may show flowers at some point.
But no produce to hand out.
Continuing with their specialty hooks.
When demand for supplies are for everyday cooks.
Fertilized with hate for the left.
It’s the poison they are wanting to ingest.
Watered down with ice from the right.
With pride, they engage in spite.
Taking in sugary drinks from big corporations.
Which often seem refreshing.
But is not for replenishing with the salts and electrolytes needed to keep energized.
Though many may survive, they compromise on the quality of life.
The price has not just been the monetary and economic loss.
It’s the pain and suffering caused.
The harm done.
The lives lost.
The poisoning of the minds.
The indifference and hate directed to certain kinds.
The divisions sowed.
The lies told.
The meanness allowed to grow.
Unfortunately it’s this set-up by Republicans –
That will have the effect of trickle-down.
No matter the cost.
To them, the price is always right.
Nothing deviates their course.
Their will is to continue, despite.
