Cuban dissidents requesting for Biden to intervene.
Use U.S. military to join forces with protestors on Cuba’s streets.
To overthrow their communist government.
And relieve the people of suffering.
They are fighting for food, service, medicine, and to be free.
Because of the pandemic, even the vaccine.
While in America some are denying the validity of Covid-19.
Discouraging others from going for immunity.
Aiming to take away free from sections of American society.
What a request – do these dissidents have confidence
in this Communist Socialist leader now?
Or are they just opportunists so they use anything, anyhow.
Pretend that they now see Biden as a friendly face.
Not the demon that they’ve said he is.
Now ready to give him space.
Justify as if they are on the same side when it’s just means to an end.
So their hatred for him, they decidedly suspend.
Are some of them Trump worshippers who were emboldened
by his America First agenda?
Isolationists who preached against getting into the mix.
Of another Country’s politics.
Biden hasn’t changed his stripes.
He and the Democrats weren’t the ones lauding Putin’s might.
It’s been Trump, the Republicans and their minions.
Adamant about such opinions.
Now Cuban Americans are supporting freedom of speech.
Freedom to protest in the streets.
Freedom to choose who leads.
All of that they demand for their Cuban comrades.
Yet it’s so hard for some to stand beside that for fellow Americans.
Who also protest for their Rights and against injustices to them.
When doing so, they are branded as traitors and deemed to be violent.
Heavily armed law enforcement are sent when they peacefully protest.
When the Press tries to reveal truth, they get marked too.
Any opposition is an enemy of the State.
That’s the state Trump and the GOP have placed America in.
Many Cuban Americans and other exiles have been siding with their squelch and kill.
Removal of the will of the people to certain positions and factions of the government.
Attacking those who oppose Trump and Republicans.
The most authoritarian of regimes America has ever seen.
Accepted on this property.
Protested against across the sea.
Strict sanctions implemented by Trump tied the hands of the Cuban Government.
When Trump had the support of many Cuban exiles.
Despite the trials the people on the island may endure.
Then add the global pandemic and they suffer even more.
Trump wasn’t necessarily wrong to make that decision.
It’s Cuban Government not admitting to their contributions.
Their mistakes, their failures, their management, their behaviors.
That’s what happens when you’re into isolating.
When you reduce the government’s role to control and stop governing.
Corrupt and improper use of funds.
Caring only for the higher ups.
In America, this pattern is being allowed to brew.
Discrimination placed to first groups but will spread too.
It’s amazing how short-sighted people have been.
Even those who were already exposed to authoritarian regimes.
When you limit your choices for those who lead –
You deny yourself options when it’s change of that lead that you seek.
Americans have been demolishing their escape routes.
While Cubans already trapped, are searching for a way through.
Some Americans, boxing in themselves and others.
Even those who shed tears and fight for their Cuban sisters and brothers.
What some are for building there –
They are MIA when it comes to defending it here.
Wanting intervene and do, only when it’s for their own.
Otherwise, forget the rest of the world.
They were all out for standing firm with America First.
To keep “rapists” and “terrorists” out.
Take care of ourselves and not be taken advantage of by others out there.
We can survive with money, resources and power to spare.
We don’t need the rest of the World.
Each country should survive as a stand-alone.
But when it comes to what they want – like letting in or helping Cubans.
They change what they’re about.
No shame with this.
Once it’s their wish or checks to their wish-list.
Just as Republicans have been carving.
Setting up for their markings.
But if we move only to favor certain sectors of our society.
America will not see peace.
She will be like the Gaza Strip or the Middle East.
Playing favorites is not a good look in a Country.
Whose citizens are fighting to bring democracy to another land.
The same of which in their own, they are voting to disband.
Those who fled during Castro’s early lead.
Brave souls to a strange land with no guarantees.
Having numbers and knowledge.
They were able to build power and privilege.
Not even needing to learn the official language and being proud of it.
Some did not try to assimilate, but took opportunities to dominate.
Looking down to judge, even despise those already here but were unable to rise.
Not trying to fit in, but to have others change to meet their type of living.
As many Americans are doing now.
Suppress who and what they can.
Even knowledge and information.
Not trying to understand why some won’t stand to the flag that
has stood for America but not with them.
Represents the stains to their suppression and oppression instead.
Different roles, different strokes.
Those who paved for other than White Anglo Saxons to have Rights and equal say.
They and their descendants are often betrayed.
Blatant to their face.
As some Cuban Americans fight for their own.
They simultaneously throw sticks and stones to deprive other Americans
ways to grow.
Charity rendered to those outside, not given to those here at home.
And they’ve been counting on a man and Republicans
who speak more like Castro than Reagan.
It’s the Castro types that they publicly define as deplorable.
But it’s Biden, as he fights for decency and democracy
that they find to be most despicable.
It’s difficult to understand that thread running through their heads.
Even for them.
Seems when you can’t make sense of what you’re trying to convince yourself.
You are easily led to lies and conspiracy theories instead.
It’s not in opposition to their fight for freedom and Rights.
A worthy cause that should be done.
It’s the denial of these same Rights to people on American soil.
By some of the same who are leading these fights abroad.
And the types of leaders they claim to despise out there.
Are being revered here at home.
Authoritarian seeds are being sown by those on the right.
How many Cuban Americans have been silent?
Sometimes it’s been a case of indifference.
Other times, it’s been their deliberate stance.
A protester said she stands with all Cuban people.
No matter their color or religion.
Why can’t that be the case for fellow Americans?
Exiles want to hold the Cuban Government accountable.
For bringing harm to the Cuban people.
Look at what has been happening in our backyard.
With Trump and the Republicans.
How many of these same people have been cheering them on?
In America, Republican leaders and lawmakers have been getting more bold.
Limiting and politicizing what Americans are told.
Putting those with extreme views and elements in control.
Removing choices and freedom to citizens.
Much of what Cuban Americans are fighting against in their homeland
are en route to becoming permanent.
And seem to be in demand.
Especially in Republican-run States.
How many Cuban Americans make up their base?
So many similarities between authoritarian regimes and the Republican schemes.
Peaking power to the powerful.
Exchanging benefits and privilege for votes.
Misinforming, misdirecting, lying and deceiving.
Manipulating, restricting, cheating and misleading.
Wanting to use the military to manage those with an opposing view.
Voting to overturn a free and fair election and praising an attempted coup.
Taking advantage of the fact that we’re so entwined we can feel each other twitch.
And some are convinced that what they feel from others are or will be aggressive.
So they attack first even though there was no ill-will to them.
No wrong-doing or offense.
Endorsing whatever lies the leaders bring.
Once it’s to theirs or their Party’s benefit.
Belief in the superiority of some and that others should kept down.
That’s what authoritarians do.
It’s an easy choose by those who vote them in.
Because they have the same motives and thinking.
To all of those that this rings true.
May your hypocrisy shine through and reflect back to you.
So that what you feel for those in your homeland.
Can extend as a helping hand to your American fellowman.
Stop the hate, don’t discriminate.
Undo the embrace to the authoritarian rule.
See the man in the suit for who and what he is.
Not allow communists and autocrats to rule on this soil.
And avoid, that one day, it will be Cubans protesting in their streets.
For US here in America to be free.
