Trump fuels a Culture War. Taking advantage of what was there before. As people’s situations change, they look for others to blame. While they ignore the natural consequence – globalization, technological advancement, artificial intelligence. For their demise – Whites blame Blacks The Middle-Class blames the Poor Now Citizens blame the “Immigrants”. Society was ripe to embrace Trump’s Culture War.
During times of need, people turn to the Government. Yet during good times they reject and try to reduce its existence. They side with less taxes to the rich, dismantling of Government Programs. But then, what Government resources are there now to help them?
All along, Trump held up “his” good economy His measurement has been the greatness of Wall Street. But these gains do not reach the common man. In reality, policies for his benefit, did not stand a chance. If workers received anything, maybe, in the hundreds But for the rich and big businesses – millions and billions. So these are the consequences of people’s political choices. This is what they wanted when they raised their voices. So again they look for reasons for the plight During this financial and health crisis fight. And they easily take Trump’s bait and participate in these Culture Wars. While from the outside the enemies continue to intervene, destabilize and destroy US even more.
Throughout the land it has become more partisan. You are judged and labeled by your behavior. And your behavior is assumed by your label. A Democrat is now a socialist or a far-left liberal. And you are anti-Trump if you wear a mask. Every issue is political.
Yes, there are Trump supporters who are racists. and they belong in that “basket of deplorables”. But there are some whose experiences have bent their perceptions and left them vulnerable. Usually when people reject reality, what’s reasonable, or side with denials – There is something psychological.
But we all need to recognize the flaw in our thinking – Wishing something would disappear doesn’t ensure it leaving. As with the virus we’re failing to deal with what is true and real. So what we’re trying to implement won’t help to overcome our ordeal. And for sure, a Culture War is not the solution. In fact, to our problems – it’s an addition. The divisiveness and meanness that we are exposed to every day have become part of our repertoire and we are less mindful to engage in positive and humane exchange.
We need to face reality for now and in the history. Not to look back for, or to embrace the Fear. but to correct mistakes and set new goals and aim for what we care. Why do we think as we climb the ladder we need to step on others? Why are we so afraid to have Unity and Equality with our brothers? Is it them that we truly despise? Or are we afraid we would get less of the Pie?
Whichever way, we must realize that in the game of life – Win-Win is the solution. Yet we play as we do for recreation and vie to be the Winner not the Loser. When will we see it’s not a game? It’s People’s lives with which we play. There are real life consequences. When will we start to think for ourselves? Use reason and good old-fashioned common sense?
We need to understand that what goes today comes from the 2016 seeds we sowed These are the results that have come our way. They are on full display. We need to see that Culture Wars don’t hold the key to having a Greater Nation or a thriving economy. And if we keep lending a hand to these Culture Wars, we will get all for what it stands but normalcy and peace will be no more. Chaos, hate and poverty does not make a great society. If we continue to uphold and be sold on this Administration and its Culture Wars, seek personal freedom and the individual cause – We will get what we reinforce. When will we realize we need to stop the narrow focus? Step back, see and accept that which makes the bigger picture. It’s not the Party, Ideology, Individual Rights, or One Group. It will always be Society, Unity, Community and Truth.
