The removal of Roe v Wade and Voting Rights have occupied much of the political, religious and social space on the right.
Deaths and harm done have been in the name of religion, and from the desks of the Republican and conservative ones.
It’s hard to fathom that there isn’t any attempt at correction or confession.
Instead many appear to continue their ill-advised, reckless and misguided behaviors with aggression.
As targeted and avoidable hurt go to our fellow-men.
There has been no attempt to stop that trend.
Relentless pursuit of religious beliefs not accompanied by solace or relief.
Lawmakers can rescind their oath to the Constitution and keep their position.
They can support corruption and undo the good deeds of the legitimate government and still be seen as patriots.
Instead of promoting collective gains and setting up for win-win.
They commit sin in their bid to secure power grabs.
There is no concern for who gets trampled or lags.
They are choosing tracks that send US back.
Now progress previously made, are deemed as failed.
What was seen as right, we now fight against.
Once our bright, now seen as bleak.
Consideration and courtesy are now jabs to our free.
The downfall of others leads to our prosperity.
We demand respect when we have none to give.
We fight for life as we show no appreciation to those who already live.
We are indifferent to so many who die from Covid-filled lungs.
As we decry wearing masks proven as effective for prevention.
We pray for safe as we harbor terrorists and vote for guns.
We expect safety nets and growth but we don’t allow the government to prepare for the long run.
We claim for law and order without discipline, accountability or integrity.
At least to one side, one voice, one Party.
We cry free as we allow assaults to our democracy.
We expect for poor to accomplish without opportunities to make money.
We want African Americans to forget about slavery.
All their troubles are to their fault because they are arrogant and lazy.
While they are denied equality.
And the GOP still fights to strip the knowledge of their history.
Some officials are no longer forthcoming about Covid cases.
Putting US all in a more dangerous place.
But that tactic will not make Covid go away.
Just more difficult to trace.
Giving less information, worsens our situation.
That seems to be a growing trend.
Narrow the scope and content of our education.
Before we were taught to cast a wide net in the establishment of some of our beliefs.
Now we seek and read so we can see what we want to believe.
What was tried and solidified were our core values that determined our stop and go.
How, when, where and why we choose the flow.
Our core values didn’t change like the soup of the day.
To match what we try to do or say.
What we said and did were guided by our core values and beliefs.
Now we change them to create an alternate reality.
The way we now behave shows fickleness to our values and faith.
A strange place for those who claim as faithful, to be.
A hard sell, but many fall in line as dedicated sheep.
As our values turn, our children learn.
Statistics show that many who embrace the alternate reality get their sails from the right and the GOP.
They lack details and fall short on facts.
And they are determined to stay on the course they are at.
Ignorance and stubbornness – some seem to value these as treasures to hold.
As weighted gold.
Chaos and confusion appear to be high on people’s acceptable list.
Those also showing a distaste for self-control, self-restraint and discipline.
When there is a call to doing for a collective need.
The cry is government and system overreach.
Any inconvenience or requests are attacks and assault to personal freedom.
In a democratic society, freedom doesn’t give US the right to do as we please.
We also have a responsibility to do for the needs of community.
The greater good, not just individual or one-sided perks, should be what we seek.
Instead many are demanding to stop the squeak only to their wheel.
No, we can’t help all the same or 100 percent.
But that should, as much as it can, be our intent.
Stop the deliberate discriminate.
The direct motions of hate.
That, no society should tolerate.
Especially from their leaders, lawmakers and those of influence.
We’ve abandoned truth and common sense.
Adopted hypocrisy and pretense.
We expect and demand change when it comes to others.
But when it’s asked of US, we can’t be bothered.
We want change to occur based on how we think and what we say.
Without analysis, comprehension and changing our ways.
But outcome, consequence and truth won’t be playing by our rules.
And when they hit we will have no choice but to deal with it.
How long will Americans keep choosing false claims and ineffective doings?
We will continue to drown.
As people subscribe to the watered-down versions of American, Religious, Conservative and Republican.
