Some Americans continue to pick for limiting.
Others fall in line only for their choosing and their doing.
Ironically, those who want individualism and cry personal freedom are the ones dismissing diversity.
Not wanting equality for all in our society.
To keep themselves pure, the right keep their focus and their poking to incite a civil war.
While other countries are advancing, boosting their cause.
As they are strengthened even more.
America is being weakened.
Allies watching tentatively to see what Biden will bring.
Very aware that Republicans are within striking range.
Wanting to re-arrange.
Aware that America is still under attack by her own.
With an opening for Trump to return to this throne.
That side is still alive and well.
With many more stories to tell.
Trashing what we have, in their search for “greater”.
What used to be cherished as American treasure are disposed of for their gains and immediate pleasure.
As long as that truth looms, America will continue to be groomed.
By the likes of Putin.
Authoritarian lead has a foot in.
While the great that people truly did seek is being pulled from America’s reach.
Some Americans have forgotten her good and great that used to be.
And in the end, what we will all see is red.
When life-lines and humane kinds become a fight to get.
Only through protest.
Our allies will no longer be friends of democracy.
But as some wish, we will be in the image and likeness of Russia, North Korea and Turkey.
What some Americans say they want is not in the path they’ve agreed to set out.
If it’s peace they seek –
How can this Nation be at peace when we are mean to pieces of our society?
If it is Unity –
How can we combat hate, when hate runs through the veins of one Party’s base?
Is used in political campaigns and to set laws.
If their true calls are for pride in Country –
How can people call themselves patriots when their allegiance is to Party and certain individuals?
If for values and principles –
How can we allow so much death, suffering and pain just to get a reversal on Roe v Wade?
How can anyone stay silent, while in Jesus’ name other Americans engage in assault and violence?
If we want democracy –
Why do we allow the Republican government’s main role to be control?
Why do we let domestic terrorists breed?
Help one side to unfairly take the lead?
If we so love this land –
Why is there so much opposition to preservation?
No appetite or will to curb pollution?
We can ignore the warnings about the climate crisis but we can’t escape the heat.
Which will continue to rise as long as we promote climate change deniers to lead.
The consistent lies deprive Americans of information that could save their lives.
Information that would help them thrive.
Often people choose to use lies when they perceive a need to hide.
Lies are there to distract and dilute.
And liars bet that there is more for their gain by telling the lies, than from speaking the truth.
But one deception, opens the door for more.
Then there is continued reliance on lies and deceive for scores.
A trend that will be difficult to end.
Voters once put a stop to politicians because of their lies and tricks.
Now it’s with those who show most grievances that they stick.
Honesty no longer in their promotions or policies.
Criminal and amoral acts are at the heart of Republicans, Conservatives and extremists.
Whatever the lever, they are willing to pull it.
Some say they don’t agree with what’s been happening.
But they don’t engage – they take a back seat or lay low and silently.
As the power to those actually trying to steal the lead becomes real.
Less so for US and we … the people then with no power or authority.
Just as it has been for African Americans whose plight was not their choice or to their taste.
It was a situation to which they were placed.
All because of their color and race.
Yet they had the guts to fight for a chance.
For their advancement.
Going against the establishment.
But the gains that were made are being taken away.
To fulfill someone’s bid to make America “great”.
Those who are certainly not for a multicultural, multidimensional society.
They aim for same, not unity or equality.
They hold to their dreams, instead of facing reality.
Their desire for free has been to evade discipline, accountability and responsibility.
Even the Alt-Right have shown more honesty.
They tell of and show their hatred with the swastika on their sleeves.
While others try to convince US that domestic terrorists are patriots.
True patriots are traitors.
Now when someone does the right thing, we make a big deal of it.
It’s not wrong for good deeds to be highlighted.
It’s the reaction that they weren’t expected.
This is what America gets when they pursue their “great”.
This is what they want to sell to the world as American made.
We can keep lying our way to believe in alternate facts.
But that’s not what will keep US on track or have our backs.
Neither will the liars, the corrupt or the cheats.
And if it’s to them we continue to place our belief, it’s their great that will surely be.
While America’s greatness, will not be seen.
But never fear, the greatness that they say they seek will always be there.
Once they agree, to keep living in their alternate reality.
