The Evolution of Good

Many Americans, even those of Christian belief, feel that poverty is a choice.
And if people wanted to, they could get out.
It’s from that space that people judge, hold resentments and build a grudge.
Poor supposedly are in that position because of who they are.
But poverty doesn’t define or describe your character.
It’s a circumstance you’re in.
Not who you are within.

People move to the suburbs with the hopes of staying safe.
At times enclosing themselves behind walls and gates.
When we must know there are other ways.
But there seems to be an assumption that some are born thieves.
When in reality, desperation and lack of hope may lead them to steal.
If people have their basic needs met, it’s less likely they will have the mind-set to jump your fence.
Which side lacks the moral sense?
As there are some with no care when certain “others” don’t get.
And those “others” see that the scales are set for specific people to receive.
So they perceive their deprivation to be a steal.
Therefore, breaking in and taking is their way of leveling.
It’s happened in the past, when there were less crimes and petty thefts.
People had ways and means to provide for themselves.
Also if people are told or feel of value and worth – they’re more likely to act it.
Constant oppression, suppression and deprivation are more likely to strip, diminish and restrict.
It’s not to condone any wrongdoings or crime.
But we must also acknowledge the crime initiated from the other side.
The privileged, rich and higher ups take advantage of and keep squeezing out the have-less and have-nots.
And there is often a difference in motives between blue and white collar thieves.
For the former, it’s fueled by desperate feels and perceived needs.
While the latter often display all out, pure and shameless greed.
Yet we readily give to those who already have the breaks.
And from the needy we eagerly take away.
Many who should know better, participate.
Then their fears rise and they call for more security, thicker walls and higher gates.
People don’t appear upset or react, when their monies are used for that.
But it seems a sin when their monies are for assisting and helping.
Concerns for debt, deficit and expense kick in.
And judgments are made – low-income will only spend money given to them on drugs and recreation.
Reason for Manchin’s opposition to the child tax credit listed in the Build Back Better plan.
But why is there no mention or concern of what big corporations do when their tax credits come through?
How much hardship do we create because of an obsession to the capitalist state?
It seems that “socialist” is only recognizable when a helping hand is stretched to those who have or are deemed less.
Not when government handouts are given to build stadiums and bail out industries that are financially stretched or distressed.

Another passion has been abortion.
Acceptance of so much wrong and sin in a bid to reverse the law.
As a choice, abortion is treated as a character flaw.
Though lying, deceiving and hating says more about who you are and your character.
Amoral being accepted as abortion is protested.
People absolve themselves and others from responsibility.
But once you participate, even though you did not initiate – there just as well should be accountability.
It’s like giving the keys to a drunk to drive.
Then standing by surprised when there is a hit or a kill.
And wiping your hands of it.
How many people have been hurt by this decision to only save the birth?

Leaders and politicians were once expected to inform, save and keep safe.
Not to use or manipulate for personal or political gain.
No longer do they use their skills for good.
Help and improve as they could or should.
Politicians can now keep standing against.
But as voters, we can’t make that same claim.
We state what we’re voting for by the way we give or don’t give our approval.
And give hints about what’s within by our sayings, doings and beliefs in.
Although people try to hide and deny, there will always be an underlying shine.
Many say they believe in a higher power that sees our ways and means.
Which may not be as pure and innocent as people would have others perceive.
Instead they judge and condemn, of course not to theirs and themselves.
So it’s with righteousness that they keep profiting.
Humility was once a call.
Now it’s all about justification.
Lacking compassion, empathy and sympathy.
Devaluing peace and equality, reinforcing anarchy, division and superiority.
We can pretend that we would have Jesus take the wheel.
While we decide by lies, conspiracies and trumped up realities.
We can judge, condemn and sentence – claim that it’s in his name.
But no matter what we display, the truth will be known to God and to the Universe.
Then our cover will be gone when our bubbles burst.
Revealing what Joy Reid calls – “The Absolute Worst”.

It’s easy be charitable when you feel good or perceive that you have an over flow.
It takes a different kind of heart and soul to stay at your best as you are being tested, tried, stretched and stressed.
We should all know, there is more to give than what we see or hold.
And it’s not just the giving to, or even of ourselves.
But the allowance of someone else to have equal access – to health, wealth and a better existence.
Because God didn’t just give the gift of life.
With that gift comes the will, skill, resources and even a place to live and survive.
And humans have been tasked with a higher level of being.
But even as a developing species, we are depriving people of basic necessities.
As if we are into weakening parts of our society.
We don’t want to give some a lift.
Are those the ones we deem to be worth less or are less fit?
So we should withhold protections and squelch their will to thrive – let them die?
But how can that be our decision to make?
We didn’t make the life, so how can it be ours to take?
Supposedly the maker told that we came from one.
So why are we into division and only caring for some?
God didn’t just speak to life, but of lives well-lived.
And each of US are contributors as we are part of the village.
We seem to forget that our impact and imprint will be left even after we’re gone.
So how can we be so callous to our fellowmen and our children?
It’s been said, we reveal more of our true self, not during times of elation, but through experiences of devastation.
Colors – revealed after a shower, storm or cyclone.
But many choose to dis the rainbow.
Maybe because it was chosen as a symbol to celebrate, from the side of the people some decided to hate.
And many are being told – fulfillment while on earth should not be the goal.
Subscribe to certain Rights, religious beliefs, cultural warfare and ideology.
Suppress, depress and deny your own.
Then you will have no regrets.
Because happiness will be guaranteed after you’re dead.
If that is truly their belief –
Why do they accept so much grief and mal-intent to obtain for their fulfillment?
