When Sin is Trending

We often focus on the wrongdoings of the “elite” and the top two percent.
But there are wrong doings at every level and all of the tiers.
And it’s not to make judgment to any of them.
It’s how they label and identify themselves.
Nor is it to be against Christianity or religion as some would have US believe.
It’s a call out to all hypocrisy.
The holier than thou attitude.
The hate displayed, the joy and gratitude shown when others fail, fall or are displaced.
The selectiveness in the teaching, preaching and messaging.
The importance placed on financial gain and as success.
The voting for pockets while ignoring that others are in distress.
It’s about the type of freedom that they want.
The kind that opens doors to corrupt.
It’s a sin to support anyone who votes for abortion as a choice in.
But not when they prop the hateful, criminal, dangerous and disingenuous –
Then the blessings and forgiveness apparently never stop.
One of the major sins has been the lying.
67 percent of Republicans didn’t believe that Biden was the legitimate winner of the 2020 election.
99 percent of Republican lawmakers sided with this deception.
Refusing to work to correction.
In public they put up a front.
Go after what their leaders and base want.
Behind closed doors many of them admit they are afraid of the base.
Republicans under the influence of domestic terrorists.
And often there are more sins buried within.
Like the harm that disinformation brings.
The defamation of people’s character.
The fall out and expense that comes after.

Sugar coating sin is likely a sin in itself.
Spreading lies, rumors and trending gossiping are against the Commandments.
That is want you do when you don’t vet what you send.
Many blame others and “the internet”.
But technology, advancements, science and social media are not cruel.
That comes with human usage.
Imagine being so foul and laden with dangerous information that you are denied a Twitter account.
And some of those have positions in the government.
It’s a false narrative that Conservatives are singled out and targeted for censorship.
When they are the only ones going beyond what should be allowed.
That action taken should not depend on which side you’re on.
To not stop them would be another wrong.

We are not as isolated as people think.
Among ourselves and incidents there are many links.
One post can start a trend.
But the effects of a trend can overwhelm.
As the sin is trending, it appears to be accepted.
Then it becomes routine.
Like the norm is now being mean.
Goodness is not a guarantee.
Nor is the endorsement of truth or real.
A loss to them is now a steal.
The trends take hold.
Enveloping people’s souls.
As we allow bad trends to be the norm.
They evolve to rules and voted into laws.
Erasing the makings of a civilized society.
Destroying the foundation of democracy.
It won’t be the first time to the fall of a nation.
Contributions made by many supposedly pursuing a quest to salvation.
So many ills and lies are trending.
Mind-bending, accepting, sending, spreading.

  1. This piece was written before the highlighted article came to my attention. The article does a great job with its focus on the the virus. But there are many other lies that are hurting and killing US. And so many ordinary souls that make it so.
