Live with this not that

It’s not wrong to seek or try and secure your American Dream.
It is, to support Fascist, especially when that dream is rooted in democracy.
It is, to swiftly pass by systemic injustice, inequality, and now corruption.
Water down the Constitution.
Hold the Bible as you attack.
Use words from MLK as you suppress Blacks.
Deliberately misinform to control.
And despite corroboration you can still say none of this is so.

It’s understandable that people avoid the News.
But they can’t be excused for staying uninformed while making crucial decisions.
Nor for making it their norm to gravitate to disinformation.
Decide to not know or, to not be well-read.
To rely on trends, tweets and likes instead.
That’s bringing danger to US and being reckless.
Yes, at times it may be difficult to decipher truth.
But the desire for honesty should motivate you.
And at this time, there are sufficient issues which have been made clear.
Enough to steer people away from the GOP.
That is if they have a backbone or want to be true to their humane being.
If to that you’re not able to conclude.
Then you are the fake or are allowing fake to guide you.

People wanting freedom is comprehensible.
Their irresponsible behaviors are not.
How is it acceptable that their shots could infect, spread, even cause deaths?
Be of detriment to themselves and the masses in our Country?
How uncivilized and inhumane can humans be?

Wanting your Party to win is human.
Accepting corruption, deception and immoral methods to guarantee
wins is atrocious.
It is beneath US to put aside humane for Party gains.
The people of the GOP are voting for riches and prestige.
Power for them and their Party to lead.
But as citizens, if we allow them to restrict and take away, we limit what stays.
As we streamline power to a few, we deny ourselves power to choose.
We will be at their mercy.
Because they will expect loyalty.
The day loyalty to them is not in our best interest.
They would use the power given to obliterate.
Truth would give US more bang to the buck.
But the power we’re able to keep is negligible to US.
It’s more of a pay-off for the GOP.
Who would not hesitate to use that power to limit what we see.
Have US live strict to their beliefs.

Americans are using their freedom to remove choices and silence voices.
Move the Country to anti-democracy.
Give corrupt politicians the lead.
Breed terrorists at home and allow them to intimidate to a one Party hold.
Accept illegal, amoral, unethical and unconstitutional from certain candidates.
Don’t hesitate to find fault from the opposition and highlight their missteps.
And when there is none, create.
Shift the blame of any obstruction and devastation to Democrats.
Muddle conspiracies into fact.
By doing all of that we are also narrowing our sight and where we think to look.
Making it worse by shutting our eyes to certain sources of knowledge and books.
With less to see, there would seem to be limited choices and opportunities.
Encasing ourselves as people tend to do to their enemies.
We don’t have to be jailed or physically restrained to lose our freedom.
It’s a clever reframe to have people believe they are choosing the ban.
Even though that in itself is anti-democratic and anti-American.
And the bans are targeted to authors and topics.
A path to the autocratic grip.
But they get people so wound up.
All they can think of is staying on top.
Not wanting to read is a choice.
Silencing other people’s voices by banning books and taking away Rights to vote is uncivil and amoral.
What they don’t care to read, others must follow to their likes and beliefs.
Instead of leaving choice, then using their voice to decide for their kids, they are attempting to control the masses.
Instead of leaving the books on the shelves and advocating for their kids and themselves, they control the route.
Eliminating the Right of others to choose.

As people attempt to trim what they see as fat.
They want to have only this and eliminate that.
But if you don’t assess the ingredients of what you decide to ingest.
You could be doing more harm to yourself.
When we lack discipline and give in, decide to cheat.
There is an easy retreat to behaviors that sabotage and take US off track.
When we listen to those who are into themselves and don’t mean well.
We allow them to tempt US into directions we should not go.
And before we know, it’s our control that’s lost.
At a huge cost.
We’re giving up the forest to get a tree.
Because some reject diversity and variety.
Then we have additional weight to carry.
When we could have journeyed light weight and free.
More burdens to bear.
Additional worries that scare.
Because selfish people are choosing this and are convinced we must close doors to that.
As the GOP distracts, in trying to deny entry, we’re blocking our exits too.
Denying ourselves alternate routes.
By forcing US to what they choose.
At times they’re eliminating choices available to their people too.
Today, many may not care.
But one day when that choice is needed it won’t be anywhere.
The same chains now being used to bind some.
Can be used to keep US all bound.
Then the only way out would be to go rogue.
That is by then, if you have the power to do so.
With freedom, power is voting in numbers, as part of a group.
Without, you’re often dependent on you, maybe a few.
Especially when it comes to autocrats.
Why would people freely choose that?
At times, to eliminate, would be appropriate.
And what you choose is significant.
But many have been focusing on frivolous.

In life, having options is usually a blessing.
Now people are being convinced it isn’t.
As we choose this and are eliminating that – we’re feeding into the hands of autocrats.
Thinning our options, squandering our blessings.
Swapping ropes for strings.
What do we do when yesterday’s “that” becomes today’s “this”?
We will be operating with a restricted list.
Many feel emboldened today.
Because elimination of choice is their decision to make.
But if one day they are to the other side of the spectrum.
Will the choices that remain be pleasing to them?
They will be met by the limits they themselves set.
Or would they forget?
