Yes, Trump may give, but he doesn’t hesitate to take away.
His consistency has been for his gain of power and stay.
He’s kept fascists, vigilantes and terrorists near.
Americans are quite aware, but pretend nothing’s there.
By getting the shifts aligned, he can easily move the gear.
So as some military, law enforcement and law makers stand by his side.
If they ever decide they no longer like the ride.
They shouldn’t be shocked if they get kicked out.
And voters should know, he’s not bound to deliver for their good.
He knows how to glaze, steal the praise, exit unscathed.
But there will be long lasting negative effects.
Because clearly people and Country are easy rejects.
We’re seeing this pattern unfold.
The GOP’s beliefs and agendas have turned.
Businesses were basically off limits.
Under the pretense of “free market”.
Through Citizens United they were given a voice.
Just as individuals.
So they could donate to whoever and how much they want.
But even those who have consistently been giving huge sums to the GOP and Trump are now being retaliated against.
With haste, the GOP cracks the whip of dominion when Corporations voice in opposition.
For taking the stance for their interest and purse.
Isn’t that how Capitalism works?
Now it seems acceptable that government can intervene when an entity does not support their team.
This, coming from the Party for “free”.
Bow to the Conservative regime or feel the wrath of the beast.
This, coming from the ones that historically opposed government overreach.
They still give that speech.
But their actions don’t prop.
How easy they switch and drop.
They reframe and disguise.
Highlight the faintest of lines that appear to have a negative effect on constituents.
Then there is deception by omission – not revealing potential disasters that can come when the line is erased.
Worsening the constituents’ state.
Does the GOP leadership even discuss or assess what may come next?
Attempt to find out what’s best?
Retaliation often comes as a knee-jerk reaction.
So if that’s their motive, or it’s to their satisfaction, then they need not seek beyond, nor widen consideration or conversation.
They can even limit involvement, which they certainly have done.
Making their decisions as public servants more about personal.
But once their followers approve, they have nothing to lose.
And now on the right, the warranty of privilege has extended to include positioning.
The coverage and guarantees keep expanding.
So the GOP is launching attacks and no longer have certain Corporations’ backs.
They are not afraid to battle and use unfair tactics.
Push the envelope.
See how far their supporters will have them go.
Ordinary Americans – paying politicians to play political games.
Have their representatives use the national stage to hate.
Some donate their hard earned money for the GOP to fund candidates who will topple democracy.
As they abuse their power, they are still honored.
Even as they lie, people give their trust.
They’re allowed to sit and stand above.
They now dictate, don’t hesitate to retaliate.
No matter what they bring, the voters on the right keep biting.
Messes made.
Ordinary Americans wiping the slate clean.
As if there are no references or comparisons to be seen.
The problem is that when damage is done, it’s often not to the corporation or the politician.
The cost and feel will be to the taxpayers and consumers.
Instead of treating, we’re growing our own cancerous tumors.
As many on the right cheer these senseless fights, do they realize who is paying the price?
In more ways than one – Why?
Americans are agreeing to pay more while getting less.
Swayed from focus and persevere – to digress.
Fooled by shine to objects, lured to names and brands.
As the influencers on the right perfect their sleight of hand.
At times, there is clarity as to where the lanes lead.
Either from direct knowledge or experience –
Easy to decrease, when we don’t want to face reality.
Other times we learn from other people’s situations or paths that they went.
There may be slight differences.
But we tend to inflate those to give ourselves excuses to still go.
Or we move ahead despite the signs of dread at the end.
When there is a price to be paid, we can pretend it isn’t that way.
But we can’t fake our way through an escape.
