Fellow American immigrants – Those who became American citizens.
Especially you who came after the height of the fight by the Civil Rights movement.
Have you taken time to learn about America’s line of progress that led to her establishment?
Don’t be schooled by politicians.
Especially those who distance themselves from truth, ban books, and are trying to deny and change history.
How is it that you can’t see?
They’re dangerous and atrocious.
Also, if you didn’t live through the struggles and are choosing to stay in an information bubble.
Choosing to be guided by lies and conspiracies.
Choosing to vote selfishly – for your situation, perceived need and beliefs.
Showing no care or concern for ALL who live in the Country.
By doing so, you may be elevating yourself in the short term.
But the doors you close to others are limits you’re placing on yourself and your descendants.
The effects may not be immediate but the consequences – whether intended or unforeseen – will spread.
The negativity doesn’t stay with the victims.
It will affect all of society.
Bringing threats to the economy and our safety.
By attacking groups and removing Rights.
Making people comply against their will.
Will not bring harmony or peace but serve to kill spirits.
Diminish quality of life.
Goodbye patriotism and pride.
Fellow American immigrants –
Not wanting those different from you to have a safe space.
While you allow physical and verbal attacks, as well as mass shootings to become common place.
Guns are for open carry.
Books are removed from libraries.
(African) American history is not deemed important.
But White Supremacy, authoritarianism and anti-Semitism are more prominent.
Reasons why living in America is becoming less safe.
Right-wing given permission to discriminate.
To attack based on color, religion, race, opinion, and Party affiliation.
Innocent civilians, non-politicians, men, women and children – Now all are fair game.
No boundaries, no limits, no guardrails.
Making it more difficult for Americans to vote and easier for Republicans to cheat.
Anti-democracy, anti-American – you’re helping to mainstream.
You’re making it so as you’re displacing and projecting blame.
But history will show when truth prevails.
Fellow American immigrants –
Why are you so cruel to those who lived on this land before you?
Supporting the Party attacking their voting Rights.
Igniting culture wars while stalling on bills that will give relief to everyday Americans.
Staying loyal to “Republicans”.
Even as they threaten America’s democracy.
All of you who think only of your gains and money.
Standing with the Right to own an AR-15.
Slighting on children and public safety.
Setting up for women to not get medical care.
Medical personnel practicing with fear of incarceration.
Government dictating curriculum, discussion and conversation in the field of education.
Limiting to one religion.
Continued influx of intrusion.
Fellow American immigrants –
So much that Republicans are aiming to reverse.
Do you even know how the laws and decisions came about in the first place?
Without having them even make a case, you’re helping them erase.
Some of you, who made no significant contribution to America’s build.
Yet, it’s your will to tear and break down.
You want to take America back to times neither you nor your ancestors were here to experience.
It’s laughable, except the consequence of such rollbacks are too serious.
Fellow American immigrants – you cheer when Trump speaks ill of “immigrants” and vows to be strict when it comes to immigration.
Along the campaign trail, supporters hold up signs “mass deportation”.
Trump is telling you what he intends to do.
But what you don’t seem to realize – those “immigrants” he talks about, likely includes you.
