The Trump effect

Sadly, the divisions in America have nothing to do with differences as human beings, our dreams or our needs.
Trump and his Republicans sow seeds to force sides.
Seemingly socialist versus capitalists, Democrats at odd with Republicans, left against right.
But really it boils down to those who embrace Trump, his team and their lies, against those who don’t.
The perceived divisions that Trump and right-wing promote only serve the ones who divide.
If Americans stand together, the cult of Trump won’t survive.
More of a chance for America to thrive.
Trump and those beside him will be irrelevant.
That’s not what they want.
So they bait.
Which foolishly sections of society take.
And when it comes to Americans versus Trump and his team, it’s never been a two-way street.
We know who is set to receive.
Though Trump and his Republicans are in positions to serve, they reversed the roles.
Now Americans think, the little that Trump is offering, is massive.
The power of suggestion.
The manipulation of perception.
The obvious is obscured.
As his loyalists move toward giving him a second term, Americans haven’t learned.
Even those who fled their Country to escape men like Trump, won’t let up.
It’s amazing that they don’t see any resemblance or that they don’t recognize the signs.
Or maybe it’s their choice to stay blind.
Did they have a hand in their Country’s fall?
Problems within themselves, unresolved?
Causing them to repeat the wrong call?
That’s likely why they’ve been easy to dupe and confuse – those who agreed for Trump and his Republicans to not be constrained by any rules.
Party affiliation determines who they choose to lead.
They feed on stereotypes, propaganda and disinformation which drive how they want others to be led.
They surround themselves with negative and dread.
Limit their experience to what they want to see and hear.
Even when truth is in front their face.
There’s no case to be made.
They stay in a psychological hold.
Primed to buy whatever they’re sold.
They’re loyally following, with desires to be like him.
But often they are bound, held to account.
Unlike Trump, who has enjoyed life without constraint and restraint.
Which he has taken to the National stage.
And pockets of Americans accept.
That was his bet when he said – … he could shoot … by now you ought to know the rest.
He has taken ignorance and lack of discipline, as well as his hate and discriminatory practices to the presidency.
And that’s not beneficial to the Country.
Those who fall in line, are so inclined.
They still try, hoping for a breakthrough as mini-Trump.
On that, they’re not giving up.
Others who aren’t sure, knowing what’s within, lacking the confidence to let it all out.
Sorting what they’re about.
For their truth to come through, there must be honesty.
They have to own what they feel.
Learn who they are and if they can live as the person they so admire and revere.
But know every time they align with him they’re revealing parts of themselves.
They may stay blind or be able to hide.
But often it rings clear to everyone else.
Because day after day we show who we are.
Each choice we make, speaks to our character.
At times we’re too close or we choose to not see.
But often to others, we’ve already been revealed.
The question is – Would we like who we’ve become, when the façade breaks down or clarity finally comes?
