Why do you celebrate Independence Day, when you want to take America back to the days when White men reigned?
Sported servants and slaves?
Some living in the States were not even accepted as citizens.
They didn’t enjoy freedom and Rights.
Hell to the time aimed for, there weren’t any stars and stripes.
Yearning for the days of the Confederacy.
Not respecting, actually wanting to destroy the presidency.
Some to build a monarchy, others desiring an autocracy.
Right-wing, Conservatives and Republicans publically shine light on patriotism, Rights and freedom.
But if you want to know what’s really on their mind, heed their messages and read their signs.
You don’t need to read between lines.
They are clear about what they want – God, guns and Trump.
But when they speak of God, it’s in the context of Christianity.
Guns – for open carry and with no restrictions.
Trump, as an authoritarian.
Trump and his team hijacked the Republican Party.
Darkened the clouds to the American Dream.
An ex-American president controlling right-wing.
They absolve him from any wrong-doing.
Give blind loyalty, some worshiping.
Out of fear others conform.
He performs, keeping his minions entertained.
They’ve been trained to nod and agree.
Even when he speaks incoherently.
He rambles, meanders through nonsensical, idiotic, illogical, to ridiculous.
He has no solutions other than threats, being punitive and vindictive.
With force, clarity and energy, he tells of his intent to revenge his enemies.
Set the insurrectionists and his loyalists free.
Why do you celebrate Independence Day when you call the ones who stormed the Capitol, patriots?
And those who follow norms, rules and the law, respect the people’s vote and protect democracy – are not?
What does the 4th of July mean to you when you condone the attack to the legitimate government?
Vote for those who show no respect for the office of the President?
How can Independence Day ring true?
You, who continue to enable a man and a Party bent to divide the Country for their gain.
Again and again, they create holes for those who hate America(ns) to poke.
But when they strike they won’t differentiate between White and Black, Republican or Democrat.
It’s Americans that they seek.
Trump as a president and a president-wannabe makes America weak.
He encourages and permits foreign intervention to win elections.
If that’s not motivation to redirect away from Trump and his Republicans, what is?
Mounting strategies, never used before.
Beyond reasonable to deplorable and unbearable.
Dismissing truth.
Changing the meaning of words and symbols.
New definitions to match biases, stereotypes, opinions, greed and beliefs.
Any opposition is to kill, not convince or defeat.
While true enemies of America and democracy are who your leaders aspire to be.
Independence Day is meaningless, if you put your words and goals before those of the Constitution.
Show hostility to any opposition.
Meet peaceful protests with military intervention.
Permit your leaders to send cops to the doors of those who sign petitions, or are assisting with voter registrations.
Democracy, equality and diversity, once engrained in the American Dream, replaced by wins and loyalty to a Party.
Personal freedoms, void of responsibility.
Not caring about the insertion of propaganda, incompetence and lack of productivity.
Chaos, infighting, revenge and retaliation.
Not working to protect citizens or to secure the Nation.
Not for now, not for later.
Exhausting, diminishing, eroding – yet you say it’s all to make America greater.
Celebrating Independence Day when you’ve strayed so far from caring about your fellow Americans.
When political and government have become so intrusive, pervasive and partisan.
And you’re supporting the ones making it so.
When your votes promote unfairness, and you give a platform to those who make calls for violence and war.
Your celebration on July 4th is very hypocritical.
Not the American way.
So why again, do you celebrate Independence Day?
