State versus faith

Two men, President Biden and JD Vance – Catholics in government positions.
Tasked as public servants to do what’s best for the American population.
There to serve people from all walks of life, some with different beliefs and opinions.
Which within reason, ought to be respected by the government.
It wouldn’t be a democracy, if that wasn’t the case.
Heads of State shouldn’t rule by their faith.
At least, not in a democracy, this land of the free.

As President and senator, both took an oath to support and defend the Constitution.
Not the teachings of the Catholic religion.
Even as Church leaders attack and criticize President Biden, he hasn’t caved.
He’s staying true to the citizens of the United States.
Vance, on the other hand, isn’t for the Constitution nor does he operate within the tenet of his religion.
Vance admits that he and the Trump campaign, “create stories” for attention.
A strategy they hope will help them win the election.
Despite the school and town closings, bomb and other threats, as well as pleas to stop – Vance and Trump double down.
Where are the Catholic Bishops who spoke against President Biden for his stance on choice and not squarely with abortion?
They wanted to ban him from receiving communion.
Seems the horrors that come from Trump and Vance are not enough.
They don’t feel a need to speak out.

Somehow Trump and his allies successfully draw a direct line from Democrats’ warning about their attacks on law, order and the Constitution, to the attempts of his assassination.
But all the dangerous lies and conspiracies coming from Trump and his righteous right have no effect on the violence slated to politicians, public servants and their families.
Their inflammatory rhetoric and vitriol politics didn’t contribute to January 6th.
Those ingesting this, expose the formula giving Trump wins – psychological manipulation and brainwashing.
Supporters of Trump can say and do as they want.
Then successfully distance themselves when the violence comes.
Of this Christian leaders, including Pope Francis stay silent.
So even if they don’t condone, they don’t see the importance of making it known.
And they give space for the atrocities to grow.

State versus faith – Christian leaders, including Pope Francis have failed to differentiate.
They guide their flock with a narrow scope, which wouldn’t work for the Country.
It would mean disregarding others and their beliefs.
Especially to the extreme that the faithful and right-wing want to go.
There won’t be freedom to practice religions that oppose their said interpretations.
Is that what Pope Francis and other Christian leaders sanction?
And to get, they accept all of Trump and Vance – Except their immigration stance.

The “evil” that will come from lifting the very strict abortion bans will pale in comparison if Trump and the Heritage Foundation get their way and follow through with their plans on immigration.
Not to mention the other “evils” they intend for the Nation.
So while Church leaders and others criticize Democrats and the left for cutting branches and picking fruit, Republicans and the right are poisoning the tree and damaging its roots.
Somehow, Pope Francis and others claim that the “evil” on both sides is equal.
What will they say, if God forbid, Trump gets his sequel?
Will they feel shame or accept any blame?
Or just keep on preaching the same?
Feeding into the con-men’s game?
It seems that as long as the strict abortion ban stands.
All is grand.
