We are often afraid of change.
But change is a constant that will keep happening.
At times we want a brake or a slow.
But change will be a continued go,
once the World turns.
Don’t fear change.
And don’t let the fear of change, change you.
When we choose to give in to the fear,
We’re often led to a path that’s going nowhere.
As humans we have the gifts of faith and hope.
Oh, so many reminders in our Universe.
At times we may want to give in to despair –
don’t deny your feel, own it, shed a tear.
It may be confusing, but keep moving.
You can slow down or pause, but not for long.
It’s only with movement,
that you will have a chance to get beyond.
There is a difference between
trying to stop the World from turning.
And from YOU stopping, stepping back
to get a clearer picture.
When we are too close or too deep,
our desperation leads us to see
how we want it to be.
It can distort our reality.
There are times WE may need to change –
Our mind, heart or opinion.
That should not bring us shame.
Nor should we stay obstinate.
It’s with clarity and compassion
that we should make our decisions.
At times we aim at changing others.
But it’s only with ourselves that we have that power.
For a while, others may go along for the ride –
Or so it seems.
In reality though, our only control
is with our own steering wheel.
There is fear of change during Elections.
People vote for one Party through generations,
No matter their, the Party’s or the Nation’s situation.
Blind loyalty though is never a good reason.
No matter the person, circumstance or season.
There are Americans who are fighting against change
to their status, power, America’s Identity.
But often it’s the anticipation alone that
causes the anxiety.
And once the change happens
we move along quietly.
Some of what they are fighting against,
are inevitable, or a natural consequence,
if there is to be development.
Sometimes, when we are fighting change,
We fail to see the other happenings.
And those changes which occur
Make our situation even worse.
But we miss our chance to change its course,
Because we choose to ruminate on our own Cause.
As supporters prop Trump and his Culture Wars.
Doing what he can to spite the “Left”.
They check off their boxes and keep their scores,
As he rolls back protections to the environment.
They get satisfaction, seeing the Left protest.
While towns are destroyed, lives are lost,
economic and social cost.
Fires burning, heat rising, winds raging –
As if the Apocalypse is nearing.
Trump says that he will do the same.
And they continue to support him
to win their power game.
That emotional relief which they then feel
Are not the true and lasting solutions.
And until they loosen up some of their beliefs
there will be limits to improvement and production.
When we hold to our beliefs so tight
what’s on our mind becomes the only right.
And the change we need to accept,
only comes easier after we give ourselves
a change-of-mind consent.
