People tend to distance themselves.
Trying to stay clear of what they fear.
For some it seems it’s being poor –
So any link to that course, they want to avoid.
In their mind and in their vote,
It’s what they distance themselves from most.
So as they try to flee
They fail to reason and see –
What is needed to prevent a financial fall.
They agree to do away with Insurance.
Heed the leader’s call for a wall.
Now there is less assurance
Even as the Economy slows to a crawl.
A wall won’t help for financial growth.
More of a cost leading to a financial blow.
Does nothing for financial security
More likely can lead to bankruptcy.
Some people tend to pair poor with lazy
And that is often what’s fresh on their mind.
Their dream for riches, not seen as crazy
So that’s what they stand behind.
When they should be more in the present
They’re looking to what may or could be the future instead.
That has been Trump’s campaign strategy.
But be careful what you wage
In your gamble of final jeopardy.
Which some see as a last bid
To save America’s democracy.
Just taking Republican and Trump’s bait.
Not looking to educate themselves about the ACA.
They just see it as benefit for the poor
Or are they trying to undermine the Black President’s score?
For some it’s truly that racially charged motive
And wanting to deny the other side a win.
They go for, because their hate is so strong –
Even when it does themselves wrong.
Others are still voting in and for the Republican name.
Even though the Party now comes with a plethora of stains.
Like the abused who ignores the abuser’s flaws.
Afraid of change and the unknown to come.
Don’t forget the effect of psychological.
Willing to accept the same and what they know.
Even if it includes hits and blows.
So what are you voting for?
Or are you just voting against what you hate more?
The Socialist, Immigrant, People of Color, the Poor?
Ironically when you vote that way.
You also take away from your own plate.
As you exercise your vote to hate.
Benefits to yourself – you eliminate.
