Trump as a Government leader, is like a driver using cruise
control on a wide, straight road.
When there’s a need to maneuver or steer
He does not do well.
And if the car does not work
He will not listen to the experts
Who would guide the repair
To get the car working again.
He professes to know everything.
He has no sense of direction
But won’t try to get information.
He’s one who prefers to remain stranded
Going in circles
Rather than admit he doesn’t know
How to find his way home.
He’s easily distracted.
Instead of focusing on driving, he’s tweeting.
He doesn’t drink.
But he’s drunk with the power he feels
When he’s behind the wheel.
He takes uncalculated risks.
As he believes he is invincible.
He doesn’t choose friends, but enablers.
He knows how to pick the yea-sayers.
He gets them to pay to ride.
And commit to stay by his side.
Just for show, he would go for a spin.
But he lacks discipline.
No appreciation for the life outside or within.
He doesn’t heed warnings or listen.
He’s one, if he hits, he runs.
He doesn’t stop.
Leaving death or destruction in his way.
The rules of the road – he thinks he doesn’t need to obey.
When a mistake is made
He engages in road rage.
Even when he is in the wrong
He lies his way out and turns it around.
He doesn’t take responsibility.
Nor does he feel guilty.
In his mind, he’s excused.
So there is nothing for him to answer to.
If we know of such a driver –
We would have an obligation to retrain or hinder.
We would not readily hand over the keys.
But would object or intervene.
We wouldn’t want that person on the road.
And would revoke or suspend his license if we could.
