Keep the Faith

Trump supporters are offended by labels.
Which somehow become acceptable and desirable when it comes from his mouth.
Up in arms about behaviors, except when it is what Trump does.
Traits they reject in others are admired in him.
A loser’s badge, is his winner pin.

Some define “Great” as Trump having free rein.
But you have to board their crazy train in order to move in that direction.
Depart from sane and fill your luggage with delusion and deception.
If you’re willing to take that trip
You must be tripping on the acid in the pills of hate, bias and stubbornness.
Their emotions bearing in.
Neither rhyme nor reason does the driving.
Value, empathy, collective gain – no longer on their checklist.
Irritable and unreasonable when they are confronted.

This has been how part of America turns.
Since they allowed Trump live on life’s episodes.
He knows, as it was meant to be,
That he is not a good fit for the Presidency.
So he’s been trying to change the lead to better fit HIS needs.
He is not one to give up.
Despite being voted out,
He will do what he can to stay relevant.
Master in the art of painting fear.
Even when it isn’t or shouldn’t be there.
With his doing and people’s anticipation –
The fear becomes real through their minds’ creation.
He will keep digging in to keep his following.
Manipulating to bring himself wins.

Even though this is not what some of US would choose.
We can’t cut loose.
So what can we do?
Let hope be the light to shine.
Hold on to Prayer as a life-line to stay with divine.
We may be tempted to give in to tire.
But our faith tells us to believe we are built to withstand our trials.
Now is the time to stay alert.
Keep going as we work through the hurt.
At times we may trip, fall or come to a crawl.
But even as our body trails, our mind and spirit need not fail.
Hydrate with good and good news.
Energize with appreciation and gratitude.
Don’t sit in rage or disengage.
Keep moving along – go around the obstacles.
No need to be passive aggressive.
Where possible, be productive and assertive.
Discipline and resilience – words to feed on.
Decisiveness to stay in for the long haul.
And no, feelings of distress may not totally go away.
But our state may change if the cobwebs and fog dissipate.
Sing songs that uplift.
Use our God-given gifts.
That’s what we are all called to do –
And the rest, as we know, will follow through.

Life and Rights weren’t just meant for some.
That message is clear in the holy books and the Constitution.
Love, liberty and justice for all detail humane.
We won’t keep the gifts we’re given if we don’t keep the Faith.
And when we stand on the side of love, just, fair and right.
It will always be worth it for US to stay in the fight and fight.
