Being White and tied to Trump,
Allowed people to enter the Capitol.
It wasn’t a lack of intelligence.
It was the absence of will to look beyond the color of their skin.
Known White Supremacists and anti-Semitics
Who stand for what many more seem to now stand for.
And, because they stood with Him, they were allowed to enter in.
No preparations were done to keep them out.
Even before, Trump would not have risen to the White House.
Without the leg up from racism.
Direct votes from the Alt-Right.
Republican lawmakers and ordinary citizens turning a blind eye.
Similarly, many voted for Trump because of his gives.
But the willingness to overlook what he says and does.
Is likely because of the color of his skin.
Americans need to do some soul searching.
Which of you hold that bias deep within?
You need to pull it up into consciousness.
Out into the open.
Admit it, and deal with it.
Otherwise you will keep making the same mistakes.
Americans need to focus on truth and data.
Now, not later.
Yet many Republicans and other leaders,
Some big businesses, media and even religious –
Have not stepped up to apprise US.
To debunk the big lie, that there was an election steal.
And that a lot of what Trump put before US –
Should not be believed.
That Trump himself was about deceive.
He was all about himself, not for Country.
Allowed to lie to delegitimize the first President of color.
Not just Trump, but before, by Republicans, led by Mitch McConnell.
Allowed to lie to delegitimize the incoming Biden Administration.
Is it because his Party embraces the diversity in the Nation?
Allowed to lie about the virus resulting in many people dying.
Allowed to deceive so many times, with no attempt at hiding.
Allowed to express yourself, keep your anger unchecked.
Accepted with all your flaws, no need to be decent.
Allowed to do so much wrong, not lead, but begrudge.
Allowed to be jury and judge to others of US.
Allowed to disrupt the democratic process
Allowed to suppress, digress and deny access.
Vandalize symbols of democracy – Allowed to walk away quietly.
Such allowance given – Why?
Power, privilege, White?
Difficult to separate as they are often entwined.
Is it because some parts of you and them are alike?
Some parts of them that you like?
But with honesty, when you strip it to what has allowed it to be.
If there was more melanin through their skin.
Would such allowance have been given?
